Introduction
Most people know what their Sun Sign is, but how about the planet that rules that
sign? This is what you are about to find out! You see, when you are asked what
your Sun Sign is, what you are really being asked is which of the twelve signs of
the zodiac is your Sun in.
Now the Sun is just one of ‘planets’ that rules a specific sign. The Sun, in fact, is
the ruler of the zodiac sign Leo. If your Sun Sign is Gemini, for instance, that
means the Sun was in that particular zodiac sign (Gemini) when you were born.
The ruler (Power Planet) of the sign Gemini is Mercury.
Each of the planets of our solar system has a specific energy that defines it.
Understanding that energy yields insight into who we are on so many levels. Now,

Ruler of the sign Aries is Mars 
Mars is the second smallest planet in our Solar System and fourth from the sun. It
was named after the Roman god of war and is energetically one fiery, action
oriented little guy!
Energetically he (yes its energy is masculine) is very independent and loves to
manifest! There is a leader inside the Martian energy that drives his ambitions
with gusto. Being the leader and first sign the zodiac, the ruling animal is the ram
that can push his way towards goals while blazing a trail for others to follow…
hence the leader! Now there is a real soft spot for the underdog. When Mars is
your Power Planet, you may find yourself expressing this energy by being in the
military, a surgeon or an athlete. Just imagine a warrior with a helmet and sword

all about action and competition. They’re ready for challenges and are eager to

It’s a trait of Mars people to be counting themselves first. After all, they are the

Ruler of the sign of Taurus is Venus
Venus is the second planet from the Sun and is named after the Roman goddess
of love and beauty and is often described as the earths “sister planet” or “twin”.
Energetically her influence is inclined to be expressed as generous, kind, goodhumored and loving. Her attributes pertain to the sense of touch, refinement and
adornment. The colors that Venus folks are most attracted to would be turquoise
and pink.
If your Power Planet is Venus, you value an experience of a youthful state of pure
being, joy and Divine Unconditional Love… all around and throughout your whole
being! You uphold a dream of peace and unconditional love even when it seems
irrational. Venus presides over the voice, music, jewelry, art and possessions.

Taurus people can be jealous and obstinate at times as well as possessive, rigid,
sensitive and self-centered. But they make good craftspeople that are good with
their hands. They tend to be grounded in practicality and like harmony as well.

Ruler of the sign Gemini is Mercury
Mercury is the smallest and closest planet to the Sun. It also carries the distinction
of being the fastest. It is named after the Roman deity Mercury, the fast-flying
messenger to the gods. Hence it is the communicator of the zodiac. It is often
depicted with wings on its head.
When examining the qualities of Mercury, the highest aspect was a mediator
between God and the human race. In a more down to earth fashion you will find
them a communicator amongst people. This can manifest as writing, speech, or
commerce to name a few. They are deeply associated with reason, learning and
mental concepts. There is a tendency towards a ‘quick-silver’ tongue and mind as
well as an innate sense of street smarts. Mercury is definitely the trickster of the
zodiac as well as a jack-of-all-trades and is more mischievous than evil. Geminis
are creative, multifaceted, frivolous and don’t like routine. They are kind, warm
and intelligent as well a love intellectual challenges.

Laura Ingraham. Born June 19, 1964 in Glastonbury, CT (Time Unknown)
True to her Mercurial / Gemini nature, communication comes easily to her. She’s
a best-selling author and radio host. Her nationally syndicated talk show, The
Laura Ingraham Show airs throughout the United States on Courtside
Entertainment, and she is the official guest host for Fox News Channels The
O’Reilly Factor On April 13, 2014, George Stephanopoulos announced on his
Sunday morning show, This Week, that Laura Ingraham had joined ABC News as

Kanye’s Power Planet is Mercury. Being a true comunicator, he began writing
poetry at the age of five and had developed a passion for drawing and music in
the third grade when he started rapping, and began making musical compositions
in the seventh grade to sell to other artists. He turned his experiences into songs
and is now one great storyteller. His quicksilver toungue managed to get him in

Ruler of Cancer is the Moon
The Moon has intrigued mankind thoughout the ages. It is the easiest of the
celestial bodies to see in the night sky and is actually larger than Pluto. It’s cycles
have lead man to plant, plan and celebrate to the rythyms of the moon. Science
has found it also governs the eb and flow of tides in our oceans. With our bodies
about 75% water, it is no doubt the Moon has an effect on us as well.
When checking into the energy astrologically, we find a feminine, emotional,
motherly, nurturing influence. This influence is quite intuitive and in that same
line of thinking, it can be sensitive or moody. Being a receptive energy it is
accociated withwith the beginning of life and mother.
There is a quiet sensitive and reserved demeanor to the Cancerian, but still
inclined to publicity. They are versitile, frugal and have a nurturing ability while
still being able to organize fincances and run a business. Their skills can lead them

orphans. The Moon has a mother/nurturer vibe to it. But don’t underestimate a
Cancerians ability to juggel being famous, parenting, entrepreurnship and
philanthropy! She exchanged a $50,000 luxury car for a minivan so she could help
an orphanage.

The Ruler Leo is the Sun
The Sun is the star made of hot gasses intermingled with magnetic fields that is
the center of the Solar System. It’s about 109 times larger than our planet earth!
And in the whole scheme of things, our Sun is by far NOT one of the larger stars!
So how does this energy show up as a Power Planet? For one thing, it is definitely
center stage with all ‘goings on’ circling around IT… making it by far the center of
attention. Besides that it’s a warm and physically vital energy which corresponds
to our individuality or Soul. Being a fixed energy, its light (love) shines for all to
see. There is radiance in the personality that shows up as confidence and
charisma. Some key words would be; will, power integrity, creativity, authority,
confidence and pride. You may recognize Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Julia Child,
and Bill Clinton as Leos.

When looking at Martha Stewarts ruling planet, the Sun, we need to look no
further. The fierce leadership of Leo is undeniable. She said, “I love the challenge
of starting at zero every day and seeing how much I can accomplish.”
Leo can fall into the egotistical area because they think very highly of themselves.
But, they are also generous, unselfish, warm, creative, loyal and loving. Because
they are highly disciplined, they seldom get out of control. Being a Fire sign, Leos
are about action and they do like to be the center of attention which can annoy
them if the spotlight wanders away from them. (Now there can be a few who are

The Sun is the center of our Solar System and also the ruler of Leo… I know I said
that before, but in keeping in alignment with ‘being the center’, Leo people seem
to always find themselves the center of attention. Whether through being bullied
or up front on stage, I found multiple Leo’s whose experience was just that. Demi
definitely has a charismatic appeal… she was only 10 when she started on the
Barney & Friends show and started playing piano at seven and guitar at ten. Later
she requested to be home schooled because of severe bullying. Being a
spokesperson for anti-bullying organization PACER was the result. She used her
name to bring attention to the ever growing problem.
Leo rules the heart and with the Sun being the Power Planet for them, Leos do
have ‘heart’. It is very much about self-expression of talents, risk and speculation

The ruling planet for Virgo is Mercury
Once again we have Mercury as a ruling planet. We referred to it the first time
around as ruling Gemini. There is a difference here though because with Virgo it
takes on a more healing energy. There is still a nervous feeling, but this energy is
more serious, modest and contemplative. The reasoning skills are keen as are the
quickness of mind. The difference lies more in a desire to serve, be industrious
and is more philosophical. Virgo is an earth sign so tends to be more grounded
than the air sign of Gemini. Most Virgo people don’t show their age, are frugal
and idealistic.
According to Forbes, there are more Billionaires who are Virgos than any other
sign! This isn’t surprising because they are known for being hard workers as well
as very analytical and detail-oriented. Looking at the Virgo qualities, first and
foremost is health and cleanliness. This can bring them into health care fields, but

make no mistake; their precise analyses skills are likely to support them in
business as well.
Warren Buffett is such an example. Born August 30, 1930 at 3:00 pm in Omaha
Nebraska, Warren was a business magnate, investor and philanthropist. He is the
most successful investor of the 20th century.
With a worth of over $67 Billion (as of 2014), he ranks among the richest men in
the world. And he has pledged to give away 99% of his fortune to philanthropic
causes. Interestingly enough, under his high school senior photo it reads, “likes
math, likely to be a stockbroker.” Mercury rules Virgo and along with this quick
silver mind comes mental abilities that are not matched. This business man
carries the shrewdness of such quick thinking, and proffitiable descisions.
At times Mercury natives can be quite critical… mostly of themselves. It would
serve them well to let go of the emotion that hides within as it can be almost too

intense. When this happens, you may not find them, as they will disappear breilfy
and hide out until they come back into balance.
Let’s look at Beyoncé Knowles born September 4, 1981 at 4:37 AM in Houston, TX
Beyoncé’s Power Planet is Mercury. One of the characteristics of the Virgo
Mercury personalities is perfectionism. They are also a bit on the shy side and
want their personal lives to be notoriously private. This certainly describes
Beyoncé. There is the obvious stage personality who is very well put together and
she started this from early childhood and continues to the present. One rarely will
see her when she isn’t. Being of service is also important to her and is noted
donating fees from a concert to help victims of the Haitian earthquake.
When looking at the Virgo side of Mercury you will see a more feminine, virginal,
purer side. This influence indicates someone who wants good health to be a

priority. The shadow side would be a critical anxiety, sensitive to surroundings
and the conditions of others. They are very fond of learning and are methodical,
mentally motivated and precise.
I will say the darker side of Virgo slants towards being critical. But they are most
critical towards themselves. When this occurs, they tend towards stomach issues.
If you are a Virgo, be gentle in your own judgment… your tummy will thank you!

The Ruler of Libra is Venus
This side of Venus is slightly different from the Taurus version. Here you will find
the energy dealing more with balance, contracts and relationships. We have
harmony and beauty while still in keeping with the mental realm. With Libra,
Venus is more concerned with learning and how to choose where Taurus is with
developing the inner strength. There is a combination of beauty and high
intelligence and is not adverse to strategy!
What can be said about Libra natives is that you must not underestimate their
charm and good looks. Gracious and entertaining as they can be, they are also
excellent ambassadors and leaders. There is an innate ability to create balance
out of chaos. This is very much a mental sign. Fairness and equality for the masses
are their platform. The Justice system is home to many Librans and more than any

Kim’s Venus rings clear here. She is a great example of the Aphrodite charms. Not
one bit afraid to use her beauty to achieve her goals, she exudes sex appeal as an
intelligence strategy. Think of the word Aphrodisiac. Now, not every Libra person
will be an Aphrodite type, but don’t be fooled by the attractiveness as there does
exist a refined and quite astute attribute. Kim has definitely turned her public
appeal into cash!
If you are a Libran person the pitfalls of this side of Venus would be being a

Ruler of Scorpio is Pluto
Discovered in February 1930, Pluto is furthest from the Sun and has five moons.
Astrologically, Pluto is the planet of transformation. Represented by the Phoenix
rising from its own ashes, there is usually a feeling of resurrecting a new
beginning by burning the old ways. This usually involves some sort of transition
through crisis. This is the manor which we regain our power. Indeed Pluto is all
about power! This change translates into feeling vibrant, magnetic, charismatic,
light and whole.
When it comes to business, don’t underestimate the Plutonian Passion! There is a
laser focus to this zodiac sign that is able to block out distractions and
concentrate on what needs done. As for careers, you can find them anywhere to
brain surgeons to detectives and lawyers. Being very intuitive, the Scorpion
intensity is unmatched. There is a need for independence and trust, but if you

known for its rings and has at least 150 moons.
Energetically, Saturn has a restrictive, focusing effect that requires diligence to
reach goals. This is the influence that aids us in learning the rules and regulations
that govern the material plane. Saturn keeps us grounded and is the Great
Teacher. His discipline helps us understand our purpose… sometimes through
hardships. This does help us to harness our powers, though to be able to provide
the service we came to provide. It governs career, honor and fame.

The founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos is an Entrepreneur and e-commerce
pioneer. He had an early love of computers and electrical contraptions. His
parents garage was his lab and he excelled in school which developed into be
accepted into Princeton University graduating summa cum laude with a degree in
computer science and electrical engineering. Even though he had a very lucrative
career in finance, Bezos chose to make a risky move into the e-commerce world
where he eventually developed an online bookstore, Amazon. Once again, the
garage was his lab. This time he was in his own garage, not his parents.
Diversifying over the years, Amazon has grown by leaps and bounds into the
largest Internet retailer in the world.
The Satrunian energy is a grounded energy and makes for a sure-footed step by
step process that does not lose focus once the goal is established.

Michelle Obama is an Attorney, writer and wife to the 44th President of the United
States, Barak Obama. Being the daughter of a Secretary and Water Plant worker,
Michelle was raised in a conventional home and diligently worked her way to the
top. Being very career minded she attained a Law Degree and kept going. She now
uses her influence to bring awareness to a multitude of non-profit organizations
including poverty, children’s health and wellbeing as well as social issues. Her
diligence has paid off for the masses.
Saturn has a tendency to take on the cloak of being the bad guy. This on the
surface seems true, but deep inside; there is the teacher who shows us how

Uranus is the coldest planet in our Solar System and has complex layered cloud
structure. It also has a unique axis that is tilted sideways.
Energetically the Astrological influences it carries are spontaneity and
eccentricity. The element of surprise and change is light years away from its
neighbor Saturn. It is the revolutionary rebel who is here to give freedom to
humanity.
To the ‘normal’ person this exceeds the comfort level they are accustomed to.

His childhood was riddled with poverty, domestic violence, alcoholism, sexual
abuse and family illiteracy. Christopher’s mother, however, gave him direction
instructing him to always reach for his goals and not let anyone or thing stop him.
He literally went from being homeless while raising his toddler son to being CEO
of his own Stockbrokerage Firm, Gardner Rich & Co. It is no surprise that he is a
champion for people who are down trodden and homeless. The story of
Gardner’s life was published in “The Pursuit of Happyness” and became a New
York Times and Washington Post #1 best seller. That book was later made into a
movie.

Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954 at 4:30 AM in Kosciusko, MS
Oprah Winfrey started out with humble beginnings on a small farm in rural
Mississippi. It was there that she was the victim in her childhood years to multiple
sexual abuses by a number of male relatives and friends of the family. Her
troubled adolescence didn’t hold her back though. She managed to find a stage
for her warm-hearted personality which catapulted her into an International
arena. This opened the doors for her humanitarian, philanthropic influence to the
underprivileged of the world.
Her quest for truth has singled her out from the professionals in her field as well
as made new beginnings for many whom she introduced. This ripple effect has
gifted mankind around the world as her integrity has spawned a higher level of
expectations from all audiences.

Oprah’s philanthropic efforts have raised multi-millions for many charitable
programs, including girls' education in South Africa and relief to the victims of
Hurricane Katrina. She is always giving.
She is also responsible for a bill passed in congress in 1994 creating a nationwide
database of convicted child abusers. Her endeavors go on and on… In November
2013, Winfrey received the nation's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal
of Freedom.
Freedom is paramount to Aquarians. Not just for themselves, but everyone. And
they are willing to be a rebel to accomplish it. The Personal Power Planet Uranus

Pisces is ruled by Neptune
Neptune’s existence was first predicted by mathematical calculations before
being spotted via telescope. Irregularities in the orbit of Uranus suggested there
might be a gravitational pull from another planet.
This ‘nebulousness’ carries over into the energetic descriptions as well. There is
an elusive, confusing and mystical feeling which makes it difficult to pin down.
This can express itself as escapism to Divine Universal Consciousness.
Neptune teaches us to check in on our own center of perfectionism where all is
right, true and in balance. The fluid mystical depths within are where we find that
balance and reclaim our inner universe. Frequently, Piscean people will have and
“old soul” feeling because Pisces is the oldest sign in the zodiac. Excelling in the
traditional arts such as music, dance and photography, they are highly intuitive.

Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 at 7:15 pm in San Francisco, CA
Steve Jobs has been referred to as a "legendary", a "futurist" and a "visionary". At
one time he worked for Disney and received acclaim for being Executive Producer
of “Toy Story”. His intuitive faculties served him well being an Entrepreneur in the
Electronic fields as well as Marketer and Inventor. He was the co-founder,
chairman, and CEO of Apple, Inc. The Neptunian qualities can take its toll
however. Steve did have difficulties in school as a child… being brilliant, while
playing pranks on other children. After college, even though being a ‘whiz kid’ he
journeyed into a search of spirituality which took a turn into doing drugs. This is
very much a shadow side of Neptune. Pisces people would be wise to keep an eye
out for addictions that cover up as other issues. We are all the better for Steve
turning his life around though, and returning to the Electronic world of Apple.

Born into a family of actors, Drew was in a dog food commercial at age one and a
screen star at the age of seven.
Acting comes easy for Neptune people because of the ability to change and adapt
to their surroundings. They know how to blend in and assume roles. It is not
without its shadow, however.
All too frequently they succumb to the delusional feelings of drug and substance
abuse. Drew is no stranger to this since she turned to substance abuse in her preteens along with wild behavior.
There is a softness and vulnerability and gentleness to people who have Neptune

In Conclusion…
There are many examples of each zodiac sign and just as many multi-faceted
descriptions that each person embraces. The important thought to remember is
that ‘consciousness trumps all’ and we always have choices.
