TBG works closely with clients to identify qualifying community programs that anchor a broadband investment and craft a compelling story to ensure the Application stands out from those simply inserted into the federal process. F i n a n c i a l A s s e s s m e n t a n d P l a n n i n g TBG provides an assessment of current financial metrics of business operations and incorporates this information into specific Federal grant/loan proposals. Secure letters of support from qualifying organizations and elected Officials. www.broadbandgroup.com 12 © 2013 The Broadband Group STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS THE TECHNOLOGY MASTER PLAN™ Absent a comprehensive community development strategy, broadband ‘for the sake of broadband’ misses the fundamental benefit advanced telecom networks can offer. As advanced technology continues to play an increasingly important role in our personal and professional lives, it is important to understand how technology can also play a critical role in the life of a community. Not only does technology add a vital and valued amenity, it also acts as the community’s cornerstone for economic development, while defining its unique personality and culture. Rather than looking to the telecommunications industry to define a community’s connectivity through existing service providers network options, a Technology Master Plan™ allows communities to identify and define their needs; thus ensuring the availability of appropriate technical infrastructure. A Technology Master Plan™ is related expressly to the profile, location, demographics, and carrier options of any development project. Elements of this document include: Investment Grade Financial Analysis & Business Planning Management & Economics of Easement & Rights-of-Way Reservations Mapping & Local Exchange Routing Analysis Regulatory Options & Strategy Conduit Planning, Engineering & Design Wiring Guidelines for Residential, Educational & Commercial Facilities Community Network (Intranet) Planning W i r e l e s s T e c h n o l o g y M a s t e r P l a n ™ A Wireless Technology Master Plan™ is a wireless facilities planning document supporting the timely introduction of wireless infrastructure for the unified deployment of multiple cellular, municipal EMS, “Wi-Fi,” “Wi-Max” and “LTE” services. This document provides analysis and options related to the creation of a wireless facilities infrastructure alliance that interconnects with, and enhances the hardwired network. As a compliment to the Technology Master Plan™, this Plan identifies alliance participants in the analysis and entitlements of wireless facilities, as well as the identification and development of specific wireless requirements, locations, and technologies. Early-stage decisions regarding land-use, easements, and right-of-way assignments enable the financial and strategic options that are most lucrative and give developers the best negotiating position with incumbent service providers. www.broadbandgroup.com 13 © 2013 The Broadband Group STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS LOW VOLTAGE STRUCTURED WIRING SPECIFICATIONS Homes and businesses must be designed and built to receive integrated broadband services through a foundation meeting all home network Standards. Low Voltage Structured Wiring Guidelines support current and future home and business management systems, local area networks, and digital audio/video solutions. The Broadband Group defines Residential Single-Family (RPWG), Multi-Family (MPWG), and Commercial (CPWG) Wiring Specifications that meet all industry standards and reflect the overall technology, strategy, network architecture, and services ultimately selected in a community. Currently, The Broadband Group’s Specifications are included in the design guidelines of over 1,000,000 residential units in North America. “Communities used to position themselves around waterways, railroads and highways...nowadays, the real avenues of commerce are information systems.” - www.broadbandgroup.com 14 Wall Street Journal © 2013 The Broadband Group STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS FEASIBILITY STUDY S t r a t e g i c B u s i n e s s & F e a s i b i l i t y E l e m e n t s The Broadband Group provides summary analysis to the essential elements of a broadband plan that will define the economics to a deployment strategy. This provides relevant baseline information for granting of easements and Rights-of-Way, and decisions related to non-incumbent selection or potential joint venture options. Industry and operational review of private network investment options Requirements and obligations related to private network investments Identification of key success/failure opportunities B r o a d b a n d N e t w o r k O p t i o n s In cooperation with the financial models, analysis is conducted to include the following options: Evaluate potential partnership with current incumbent Service Providers Implementation of FCC/federal regulated broadband transport options Review of metrics for owned and operated networks within the community Review of out-of-region providers that might secure franchise or access rights to serve the community F i n a n c i a l & F e a s i b i l i t y E l e m e n t s The Study addresses services specifically related to an overview of financial models that would be required in market negotiations. The reports revolve around three (3) primary outputs: Overview of capital costs for network construction Estimate of potential operating expenses Overview of potential revenues for network construction, regulated transport, or baseline marketing alliances Analysis will further address and summarize: Competitive pricing influences Capital and Operating Costs as to Investment and Service Provider options Product packaging/bundling Impacts of Local, State, & Federal regulation www.broadbandgroup.com 15 © 2013 The Broadband Group STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS Thomas A.
