Through a series of workshops in almost every region of New Zealand participants developed their storytelling and filmmaking skills and connected with local industry mentors. Some of the participants went on to make and submit their projects into the very first Inspiring Stories Film Competition. Award categories include the following: Steve Barr moved to New Zealand after working for 16 years in the Hollywood system. He has been a post-production scheduler and studio “suit” for Universal Studios and a feature screenwriter for Walt Disney Pictures.
