Meadowbrook’s Teen Adventures program offers a well supervised program of day trips for the young teenager. Teens may select one or more weeks that appeal to their individual interest and sense of adventure. Trips are led by a coed team chosen for their maturity and their leadership qualifications. Each week starts with a breakfast on Monday morning at Meadowbrook allowing the teens to meet each other in a casual setting. Participants should be prepared to work as a team as they undertake the physical and mental challenges of the trips. Several trips are under the guidance of outside providers that require a hold harmless release waiver from participants in addition to Meadowbrook’s standard release form. For example: • Sea kayaking and Paddle boarding trips will be led by Boating in Boston • White water rafting trip by Moxie Adventurers • Rock climbing trips by the rock gym personnel • High and low ropes/challenge activities by Project Adventure leaders • Scuba diving by a Mass Diving instructor Teens choosing a week that includes a bike trip are encouraged to bring their bike. If unable to do so, a bike will be rented for them. Other specialized gear will be provided if needed. Due to weather, unavailability or other unforeseen circumstances, trip destinations may be altered or switched to another day in the week. Rainy day substitutions have included bowling, an indoor water park, and laser tag. These or other options may be substituted for a scheduled activity as deemed necessary for the safety and enjoyment of the campers. All participants must complete a camp medical form and provide a current immunization record. Teens must sign the Teen Agreement; parents, the Parent Agreement. Although trip departure and return times have been scheduled so that participants may ride our camp buses, some trips may need to leave early or return later than the 3:30 p.m. dismissal time. If trips return early, teens may enjoy a free swim in our pool. Group size will be limited and applications will be processed on a rolling basis. Teen Adventures is part of the Summer Programs at the Meadowbrook School of Weston. Visit our web site: daycamp.meadowbrook-ma.org for enrollment. Daniel E.
