Acting and advanced graduate Ben Vandermey
booked a role in the upcoming feature film I’m Not
Ashamed which tells the story of Rachel Scott, the
first victim in the Columbine shooting. The movie was
filmed in Nashville and will be released on April 20,
2016 exactly 17 years after Scott and 12 others were
gunned down at Columbine High School. Ben plays
the role of Brian Riggs. Some of his other work
includes Finding Carter, Sophie and The Rising Sun,
Troy, and Universal to name a few.
Congrats to Maile School acting graduate Sarah Meahl
for landing a role in Up Here, the new musical by
songwriters of Disney’s Blockbuster Frozen. It opened
its world premiere August 9th in California. Up Here is
an ambitious, razor-sharp musical comedy about
recognizing your place in the universe—and maybe
even finding happiness. Some of Sarah’s other
musical credits include Disney’s The Little Mermaid,
The MUNY and Greese. She also played Natalee
Holloway in Court TV’s Haunting Evidence.
Congratulations to Maile School modeling
and acting graduates (pictured left) on their
