The Reedsville Alumni Association was once again able to award a $1000 scholarship to a deserving graduating senior. The winner this year is Eric Schuh. Eric is the son of Bill (1980) and Julie
(Welch-1981) Schuh. He is also the grandson of Carol (Tisler) Schuh (1959) and Joe (1961) and
Margaret (Ebert-1961) Welch. Eric is in the Diesel Equipment Mechanic program at Fox Valley
Tech. Congratulations to the entire class of 2015.
The Reedsville High School Alumni Association’s 58th annual meeting/banquet is set for Saturday,
October 3, 2015 at Webster’s Inn on 3rd Street. The price of $15.00 per person includes tax and
tip. We will sit down to eat at 12:00 noon. If you wish to socialize and have cocktails before, the
bar will be open at 11:00 am. The meeting will follow at around 1:00 with more socializing to
follow as long as you wish. If there is enough interest in touring of the high school, we will make
arrangements for that. Reservations are due by September 15, 2015. Any person who graduated
from Reedsville High School is welcome to attend. If you have not received an annual newsletter,
please contact us at reedsvillealumni@hotmail.com and one will be emailed to you.
We will also be selling concessions at the Homecoming game, which is scheduled for Friday,
October 2, 2015 against Mishicot Indians. Help is always needed. If you are able to help out,
please let us know.

The Reedsville Historical group board of directors met recently and decided on
their agenda of activities for fall and winter.
Sunday, September 27—Bohemian Dinner at Webster’s Inn on Third from
11:00AM—2:00PM. Tickets may be purchased from any board member or at
Webster’s. Cost: $12.00 for a buffet dinner of pork, potato dumplings, sweet
sour cabbage, vegetables, dessert and beverage. Plans are underway to have
some live music too. Come and enjoy the day with us! You don’t need to be
Bohemian to join this great meal.
Sunday, November 1—Reedsville Countryfest at Reedsville High School from
9:30AM—3:30PM. Sponsored by Reedsville Lions, Lioness and Historical organizations. It will feature arts/crafts booths, silent auction, photo contest,
special fall lunch in cafeteria, music of all kinds, prizes and many surprises.
We hope you’ll mark your calendar for the event. Bring family and friends—

Do you know your cholesterol numbers?
September is National Cholesterol Education Month
— a perfect time to get your cholesterol levels
checked and to take steps to lower your numbers, if
needed.
A fasting cholesterol test includes:
Total blood (or serum) cholesterol
Total cholesterol score is calculated using the following equation:
HDL + LDL + 20 percent of your triglyceride level. A total cholesterol score of less than 180 mg/dL is considered optimal.
HDL (good) cholesterol
With HDL cholesterol, higher levels are better. An HDL under 40
mg/dL in men and 50 mg/dL in women is a heart disease risk
factor. An HDL over 60 is considered optimal.
LDL (bad) cholesterol
A low LDL cholesterol level is considered good for heart health.
However, a person’s LDL number should no longer be the main
factor in guiding treatment to prevent heart attack and stroke,
according to new American Heart Association guidelines.
Triglycerides
Normal triglyceride levels vary by age and sex. Elevated triglycerides can be caused by being overweight, physical inactivity,
cigarette smoking, excess alcohol consumption and a diet high in
carbohydrates.
To determine how your cholesterol levels affect your risk of heart
disease, your health care provider will take into account other
risk factors such as age, family history, smoking and high blood
pressure.
If lifestyle changes aren’t enough to get your cholesterol numbers down to acceptable levels, your health care provider may
prescribe cholesterol-lowering drugs called statins.

The regular meeting of the Reedsville Board of Education was
called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Board President Andrew Maertz.
Present: Board Members – Andrew Maertz, John Ebert, Vicki
Petska, Rick Hein, and Carie Boldt. Administrative Team Members – Tony Butturini, Michael Nate, and Angie Sanderfoot;

Proceedings of the Reedsville Village Board
June 4, 2015
The monthly meeting of the Reedsville Village Board was called to
order on June 4, 2015 at 6:30 PM by Village President Andy Bubolz.
Present were: Bob Campana, Ryan Lorrigan, and Jerry Reis. Absent
Jack Siebert. Also present were: Melanie Hills, Leroy Krepline, JoAnn Mignon, Craig Schuh, Steve Webster, Emilie Heidemann and
Joe Tisler.
The minutes of the previous meetings of May 7th and May 18, 2015
were approved as presented.
A motion was made by Reis and seconded by Campana to pay the
accounts payable in the amount of $91,575.96. Motion carried 3-0.
Correspondence was presented from the 5th Grade DARE Students of
the Reedsville School District and the DNR approving the 2015 Recycling Grant Application in the amount of $2,435.23.
Hills presented the First Responders written monthly report
Tisler presented the Police Dept. written monthly report.
The Utility Departments written monthly report was presented for
review. A motion was made by Lorrigan and seconded by Reis to
install a soft start pump at the Lift Station in the amount of
$2,800.00. Motion carried 3-0. The discussion on meter replacement
was postponed until Busse can attend.
The Fire Department written monthly report was presented for review.
Krepline explained they are still working on security camera placement. A motion was made by Lorrigan and seconded by Campana to
place an ad for the part-time Public Works position. Letters of interest will be accepted until June 30th, 2015. Motion carried 3-0. A motion was made by Lorrigan and seconded by Campana to approve the
proposal from Manitowoc County Highway Department to replace a
culvert pipe with asphalt restoration in the amount of $3,945.00. Motion carried 3-0.
A motion was made by Campana and seconded by Lorrigan to have
the Village Attorney send a letter to the company regarding their
delinquent account. Motion carried 3-0. A motion was made by Lorrigan and seconded by Campana to waive the building permit fee for
the Reedsville Area Veterans Memorial Park Project. Motion carried
3-0 (Reis abstained, Bubolz voted). Ordinance 2015-2 amending the
sewer rates was introduced by Campana. A motion was made by

Parish, Reedsville Fire Fighters and the Reedsville Flames Youth
Football. Motion carried 3-0.

The 2015 Financial Reports were presented for review.
A motion was made by Campana and seconded by Reis to move the
July 2nd Village Board meeting to July 9th. Motion carried 3-0. A
motion was made by Campana and seconded by Reis to approve the
Outdoor Lighting Service Contract with WPS for Deerview Drive
with a monthly fee of $72.09 and an advanced payment in the
amount of $3,692.49. Motion carried 3-0. A discussion on the Park
Street Bathroom Remodel Project has been tabled until budget time.
Following a discussion, a motion was made by Campana and seconded by Reis to contact both companies requesting a 5 year contract
proposal by July 6, 2015. Motion carried 3-0.
At 7:13 pm, Bubolz turned the meeting over to Lorrigan to discuss
the Deerview Drive Extension Project. Correspondence was presented from the WI Department of Transportation regarding the Manitowoc Street Bridge Project. Discussion was postponed until color
samples can be obtained. Lorrigan turned the meeting back to Bubolz
at 7:20 pm.
At 7:26 pm a motion was made by Campana and seconded by Reis to
convene into closed session, pursuant to WI Statute Section 19.85(1)
(f) to consider data of specific persons. Motion carried 3-0. At 7:29
pm a motion was made by Campana and seconded by Reis to reconvene into open session. Motion carried 3-0.
At 7:30 pm a motion was made by and seconded by to convene into
closed session, pursuant to WI Statute Section 19.85(1)(c) to conduct
business which requires a closed session to consider performance
evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental
body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Motion carried 3-0.
At 7:34 pm a motion was made by Campana and seconded by Lorrigan to reconvene into open session. Motion carried 3-0

convene into closed session, pursuant to WI Statute Section 19.85(1)
