Jan 2015 1st Quarter www.PyramidFCU.com | 520.795.7950 | 1.800.947.9726 pyramid FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Pyramid Federal Credit Union will undergo a system update the weekend of January 30th to bring you more reliable service and better eBranch technology. All branches will be closed beginning Friday, January 30th at 5:00 PM (an hour earlier than previously reported). All branches will be closed on Saturday January 31st. We will re-open for business on Monday, February 2nd at our usual times. For your convenience, please plan accordingly! During the system update, many electronic member services will be unavailable including your credit union’s online banking, bill payment, Sprig mobile banking, and shared branching. Visa Debit and ATM cards will be operational, but expect more restrictive transaction limits than usual. Your Pyramid FCU Visa credit cards will be working normally during the update. We also recommend taking the following steps to lessen the inconvenience to you and your family: • • • Have cash on hand to use during the weekend Use your Visa Credit Card in place of your Visa Debit Card Purchase pre-paid Visa Gift Cards to use in place of your Visa Debit Card We apologize for any inconvenience this update may cause. If you have any questions or concerns prior to January 30th, please contact your branch team. We will work with you in any way possible to lessen the impact on you and your family. How will members be affected? Naturally, the change will affect members in a variety of ways depending on how you use Pyramid’s services. Some likely things to consider and plan for include: • Your current online banking solution will be replaced. The new online banking system will be rolled out in phases, so more capabilities will come after the initial conversion. Online bill pay will not change, although additional ways to use it will be enabled. • The new system is expected to be considerably more resilient. Initially as we are getting used to the system we may be marginally slower, but in the end this should speed up how fast we are able to serve you. Additionally, it should reduce instances of debit card declines that some times happen on our current system when the network times out. • When the conversion is done the work is just beginning. Our whole team will be serving you using a new platform. We have used the old one for many years. The new system has a lot of advantages, but for a short while in transition we’ll be relatively inexperienced in using it. Jan 2015 1st Quarter www.PyramidFCU.com | 520.795.7950 | 1.800.947.9726 pyramid FEDERAL CREDIT UNION PRESIDENT’S Happy New Year! REPORT We have a lot going on in the next couple of months at Pyramid. On January 31, 2015, we are converting our computer systems to a new vendor. In addition, we are also converting our online banking to a new vendor. Many times we have struggled with the performance of our current system and after a thorough review of new potential vendors, we have chosen one that will meet our needs and will allow us to provide better service to each of our members. While I would like to say there will be no impact upon our current members, I know there will be issues that arise and everyone will have to adjust to a new online banking look and feel. We are expecting high telephone call volume during the first week of February. We are working hard to minimize the impact on you during this transition and I hope you will be patient as we work through the details. Along with the new online banking vendor will be an online banking application for your smart phone and tablet. We are excited about being able to serve you better after this transition. We will be communicating frequently using email and notices on our web site as we get closer to the conversion weekend of January 30-31. So many times, year after year, we commit to saving money in the upcoming year. If you are making that New Year’s Resolution again, I would like to congratulate you! What are we going to do different this year? During the past few years of the recession, we have seen how important it is to have savings in the event of an emergency. I would encourage you to commit to saving $500 this year. That is $10 per week. The beauty of savings is that once you start, you keep it going. Improve your financial life today by saving for the unexpected. I and all of our staff members at your credit union, we wish you a happy and prosperous 2015. Ray Lancaster CEO/President Pyramid Federal Credit Union Jan 2015 1st Quarter www.PyramidFCU.com | 520.795.7950 | 1.800.947.9726 pyramid FEDERAL CREDIT UNION got equity? Refinance today and save! Jan 2015 1st Quarter www.PyramidFCU.com | 520.795.7950 | 1.800.947.9726 pyramid FEDERAL CREDIT UNION If you went a little overboard with the holiday spending last year don’t worry, Pyramid FCU has you covered. Refinance those high interest rate credit cards to a low rate consolidation loan. You’ll save money, pay the balances off faster and make one easy payment each month. Not convinced? Check this out: If you owe $10,000 at a rate of 14.99% and make just the minimum monthly payment, it’ll take almost $17,000 and more than 17 years to pay off your balance. And that’s only if the rate on your credit card stays the same. If you paid off that same $10,000 with a Pyramid FCU consolidation loan at a rate of 7.50% APR* you would save $5000 in interest and pay off your balance in just 5 years! Make a few extra payments and you’ll save even more. Don’t wait. Each day equals more interest you end up paying. Go online, call or stop by a branch to start your application today. You can start saving right away and start planning for this year’s holiday season. *APR=Annual Percentage Rate. Your rate may vary based on your credit score and personal circumstances. Jan 2015 1st Quarter www.PyramidFCU.com . | 520.795.7950 | 1.800.947.9726 pyramid FEDERAL CREDIT UNION There are two openings on the Board of Directors The Board of Directors and other committees are made up of members volunteering their time (nonpaid). Unlike a bank, at your credit union, you, the members, are the owners. You are represented through the board, which is made up of members elected by you at the annual member meeting. These roles are impactful in the community! No particular experience is required. The board and supervisory committee are very diverse, and training is provided. Please consider whether you would like to participate in the governance of your credit union, and contact your CEO, Ray Lancaster (721-5099) by February 13 with any questions and to be considered for an opening. The following members have already been nominated! Joyce Stump Incumbent Joyce has been an active member in the credit union community for over 33 years. First, she was an employee with DM Federal Credit Union (now Vantage West) for 5 years and then worked 15 years as an employee with Tucson Telco Federal Credit Union. She joined the board of Tucson Telco Federal Credit Union in 2007 and then transitioned to the Pyramid Federal Credit Union board during the merger. She is currently in her second term serving as the Board Chair. Joyce is the Director of Central Gifts for the University of Arizona. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Northern Arizona University.
