I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you all and your knowledge and guidance has helped me to be a better person, both personally and professionally. Thank you for giving me the great opportunity and I’m sad to be leaving you all. Goodbye! x Catherine Chappell Student Learning Mentor” Catherine Chappell, Student Learning Mentor Page 3 A MNEST Y WO R K SH O P Coborn welcomed Laura Francis from Amnesty International who came in to speak about the work she does and how the young people can aspire and contribute . Here is what she had to say about The Coborn: “Thank you again so much for such a great morning on Friday. It was wonderful to meet the young people, yourself and the other lovely staff. I found the session hugely rewarding and inspiring and I do hope it had a positive impact for the young people too. The whole atmosphere of the centre made a profound impact on me - it's clear you are doing amazing work there. I've attached a photo of the card just before I posted it this morning, along with an explanatory note - although it's important to be very realistic about expectations, and we normally would not expect it, it will be interesting to see if there is any kind of response. I would love to come back to run a similar session in a few months, as you were suggesting, and it feels like there could be some interesting opportunities with survivors at Freedom From Torture as well. COMING SOON Find out how our workshop with ‘dogtrusts’ went, with visits from Bonnie the five month old puppy dog in training. Speaker from hearing voices will be coming in to visit the students. Stay tuned and find out what we have in store for our summer end of term event. Let's keep in touch and thank you again, to you and everyone at the centre, for such an inspiring morning. Kind regards Laura” Page 4 THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!
