Our February Speakers
Terry Roland
Currently on Board of Commissioners as District 4 Representative.
Terry Roland grew up in Millington where he graduated from
Millington Central High School and went on to attend the University of
Memphis. He worked for eight years as area coordinator with the
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), traveling to bases
in the continental United States.
Terry learned his work ethic from his mother and father as he
worked in his family business, Roland’s Amoco and Roland’s Pool
Supply, since he was a young boy. He was blessed to have Christi Tedington accept his
proposal of marriage, and the two of them currently reside in the Shelby Forest Area.
Terry has served as the vice chairman of the Shelby County Republican Party and is the
Republican state committeeman for Senate District 29. Terry also served on the Board of
Directors for the Tennessee Lottery, Professional Care Services, and First Citizens Bank. As a
past president of the Rural Action Group (RAG), Terry and the group of concerned citizens
successfully fought annexation by Memphis. He is a proud member of the National Rifle
Association, the Millington Chamber of Commerce, First Baptist Church in Millington, and the
Highland Hundred. He is currently the president of Forest Drive Civic Club.
Ron Fittes
Ron Fittes has been a Shelby County resident for 44 years and a
resident of Germantown for approximately 37 years. Graduated from
Germantown High School and then Memphis State University with a
major in Criminal Justice.
Ron went to work at the Memphis Police Department in 1978 and
worked his way to the rank of Major and retired in December 2011
after nearly 34 years of service.
Ron is an active member of the Al Chymia Shrine, Germantown
Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Germantown, Variety Children's
Charity Club of Memphis and has been a member of Germantown
United Methodist church for over 40 years.
Ron and his wife Sherry have been married for 33 years and have three grown sons.
Ron is running for Shelby County Commission district 4 position.

President’s Corner
Thanks everyone for renewing your memberships… and if you didn't, please do so.
Barbara is working on getting great speakers who will give us insight on what is going on in our County, City
and State. This is the perfect way for you to meet our candidates and elected officials. We have seats on the
County Commission, Mayor Luttrell, General Weirich, Judges and other officials who must be re-elected.
We have a "fun" raiser coming up. It's different from other fund raisers we have had in the past. Be sure to sign up to help
Marti Miller. This is the way to make money to help our candidates.
Each month I will present a President's Award to people who have worked out front and behind the scenes for our club. It
will be my way of saying, "We appreciate you and the work you have done." If you would like to nominate someone for this
award, please call me (737-8633).
Don't forget to send in dues and invite friends to join us. See you February 10th, Germantown Country Club.
Fondly,
Joyce
