Conformity:
These products are manufactured in ISO9001:2008 (SANS9001) accredited manufacturing
facilities.
Additional Considerations:
Widely used by petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, and utility industries, as well as firefighters.
Inherent thermal protection that cannot be washed away.
Durable and resistant to abrasion, tears and chemicals.
Meets the NFPA 1975 standard for firefighters’ station wear.
Meets the ASTM F1506 standard for workers’ apparel as protection from electric arc exposure.
Complies with NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
Complies with NFPA 2112 Standard on Flame-Resistant Garments for Protection of Industrial
Personnel Against Flash Fire.
Note:
Single layer garments made from these fabrics are not suitable for protection against
continuous thermal loads, molten metal splash, hot liquids or steam. Do not wear alone for
structural or proximity firefighting. Do not use for chemical protection. Follow all warning and
use information included in garment manufacturer’s labels.
Comfort and fit are an essential part of fire safety making the NOMEX® IIIA and NOMEX®
COMFORT fabrics ideal as they are comfortable, lighter in weight and with wicking finishes that
improve breathability.
All information is supplied with the intention of the user to select
the correct protection after considering the hazards of the work
area or operation. Further to this the relevant Materials Safety
Data Sheets & Occupational Exposure Limits must be consulted
and together with the local standards and measured hazards the
correct protection can be selected. This information is to be used
as general guide only. This information should be read in
conjunction with any and all standard referred to. Should any

Fires are unpredictable and situations can change in an instant with temperatures reaching
1038°C (1900°F), exposing workers to serious injury. So for hazards like flash fire and pool
fires the NOMEX® IIIA and NOMEX® COMFORT fabrics help minimize break-open, and
expands to form a stable and inert barrier between the fire and skin. This gives the exposed
workers the valuable seconds they need to escape from the hazard.

Inherently flame resistant fibres are materials that have the flame resistant properties built into
their chemical structures. The actual structure of the fibre itself is not flammable therefore these
properties can never be worn away or washed out. When exposed to flame, the aramid fibre
swells and becomes thicker, forming a protective barrier between the heat source and the skin.
This protective barrier stays supple until it cools, giving the wearer vital extra seconds of
protection to escape.
Flammable contaminants will reduce the thermal protection of any flame resistant fabric and the
garments made from them. Wash all garments made with NOMEX® IIIA or NOMEX®
COMFORT fabric frequently to ensure that no greases, oily soils or other flammable
contaminants are present when the garment is worn.
Styles & Packaging:
All garments are packed in a Dromex printed polybag and then packed in cartons ready for
transport:
Suits (sets)
15 per carton
Overalls
15 per carton
Storage & Obsolescence:
These garments if stored correctly will have a shelf life of 8 years. Disposal of all contaminated personnel
protective garments should be done in the correct manner as per the local, statutory and recommended best
practice as the garments could be contaminated.
