Chamber adds staff to its talented team
The Chamber is pleased to announce two part-time additions to its talented
staff, Judy Wilson and Susanne Bernier-Robinson.
Judy Wilson
Judy Wilson, the Member Services Coordinator, will be the go-to person for
Chamber members. As a prior business owner, she knows the importance of being involved in a chamber of commerce and how to capitalize on the benefits of
membership. In her position, Wilson will be visiting local businesses with hopes of
securing new members as she educates them on how the Greater Waynesboro
Chamber of Commerce can help them succeed in business.
As the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Susanne Bernier-Robinson
will assist the staff in marketing the Chamber and its members. New to the area,
she brings to this role significant experience working for a chamber of commerce
in New Hampshire. In addition to being a talented graphic designer, she also has
experience producing television shows. Bernier-Robinson offers a whole new
portfolio of communications skills and a fresh perspective to the chamber.

Several members of the community recently submitted artwork
to Mainstreet Waynesboro as part
of a design contest. They were
asked to design new banners that
will be displayed on light poles in
the downtown district for the next
two years. Three winners were
been chosen, and the new banners
will soon be made.
Now, Mainstreet Waynesboro
is looking for businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring
the banners. Much like the previous “Civil War 150” banners, space
at the bottom of the new banners will be reserved for company
names. The new banners will remain on display until it’s time to
put the Christmas wreaths up in mid-November of 2017.
If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity to advertise your generosity to anyone traveling up and down our Main

Waynesboro Community Concert
Association celebrates 80th season
Chamber member creates
unique training tool for golfers
The Waynesboro Community Concert Association,
formed in 1936, is the oldest and only concert association in Franklin County. This non-profit organization has
offered a concert season every year beginning in 1937.
It offers exceptional value for a very modest cost, and
always present artists of high caliber who are skilled in
entertaining audiences of all ages and tastes.
Few concert associations throughout the country
have existed for 80 years, so in this anniversary year,
their concert program has been chosen specifically in
celebration of this milestone. They will join with their
friends in Hagerstown to jointly sponsor two concerts,
one of which will be held at the Maryland Theatre.
Artists for the 2016-17 season are David Burnham’s
Broadway, Ronnie Kole Trio, Next Generation Leahy
Family, Tenoré, and The Equinox Little Big Band. A new
subscription also includes admittance to the last concert
on April 17, 2016 and admission to 13 or more performances hosted by other concert associations.
For more information call, 717-414-4356 or visit,
www.waynesborocommunityconcert.org.
Daniel Baker, PGA,
owner, and operator of
the Waynesboro Municipal Golf Course, has received third place in the
Best New Training Aid
category at the 2016
PGA Merchandise Show
in Orlando, Florida. He
will also be featured on a
couple of golf shows, including Inside Golf.
What’s his training aid? A laser cap!
Baker came up with the idea for his training
tool when he was out on the greens working with
a client. He noticed that golfers watch what is
moving in their peripheral vision and that it is
usually the club. He realized that by having the
beam of a laser to focus on it would give the
golfer immediate feedback as to whether or not
their head was moving during the putting or
chipping stroke. From that epiphany he developed his laser cap.
The training cap has been well received by
industry experts. If you would like to learn more
about Baker’s laser golf cap, visit his site at

Shuster leading House Task Force on reducing job
killing regulations
Congressman Bill Shuster recently took part in the first of several idea forums for the House Task Force on Reducing Regulatory Burdens. Shuster is
serving as one of the chairs of the task force, which is part of the House Republican initiative aimed at developing an agenda to address five issue areas:
national security; jobs and the economy; health care; poverty, opportunity, and
upward mobility; and restoring constitutional authority.
“With each passing day the federal government is getting larger and more
out of control,” said Congressman Shuster. “Franklin County has felt firsthand
the devastation that red tape regulations enforced by Washington bureaucrats
can have on the industries that many depend on in our region for a way of life.
I’m going to work with my fellow task force members to aggressively put forth
new ideas and measures that will halt job killing regulations and get out of the
way of our small businesses and economic growth.”
Taking a bottom-up approach, committee-led task forces will develop this
agenda, holding idea forums to take input and ideas from all members. Prior to the first idea forum Congressman Shuster along with the other co-chairs of the task force released their mission statement. This
mission statement lays out the goals of the task force, marks the next step in the development of a bold, progrowth agenda that Republicans will present to the country in the coming months.
Mission: Make it easier to invest, produce and build in America with a modern and transparent regulatory
system that relieves the burden on small businesses and other job creators and encourages financial independence, while balancing environmental stewardship, public safety, and consumer interests.
