Spanish conquistador, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, and used as the former
military headquarters of the Spanish colonial government. Jose Rizal, the
Philippine national hero, was imprisoned here before his execution in
1896. The Rizal Shrine museum within the fort displays the hero’s
memorabilia.

be the oldest stone church currently standing in the Philippines. It has

colonial era.
