A few final reminders… Final Heat Sheets will be emailed and posted no later than Thursday, 8 July. Coaches/Coxswains/Scullers meeting at 7:00 a.m. Racing begins at 8:00 a.m. Capital Sprints will provide bow markers. Waivers: If you have not done so already, please ensure all your participants have completed the Ronin Racing Online Waivers. Ronin Racing will be providing us a full list of signatures on the final deadline for waiver signatures. Below is the link to the Waiver site. http://www.roninregistration.com/rowing/howtosign.asp?p=default&pt=rowing Spectator Tents: There will be an area for spectator tents but the tents will be pitched on asphalt. There are no areas that are shaded so please plan accordingly. Picnic: Capital will again be hosting a cookout at the conclusion of all races. (Please note that you will want to bring any food/water provision that you will need during the day as races will go until about 4 pm.) We are asking all clubs to contribute to the Pot-Luck. Capital will supply the burgers and hot dogs and we ask you to bring the following: Last Names A-H Dessert Last Names I–R Side dish Last Names S-Z Drinks Please email capsprints@capitalrowing.org as to whether your team will be staying for the picnic, and if so, how many do you estimate attending. This will be very helpful in planning the amount of food to be purchased. Car Parking: Parking will again be in the Washington Navy Yard. Follow the attached directions. There will be Capital Sprints Regatta signs along the streets. For parking in the Navy Yard, please bring a valid ID with you for the gate check. You will also need the attached Parking Pass which can also be printed from our website. A free shuttle van will run between the Navy Yard and Boathouse. !"#$%"&'()*$+,'!&-.' !"#$%"&'/#0$+%1'(2,"%%"' 34'5-&6'7434' Parking for Boat Trailers and Car Top Shells: Boat trailers and car top shells will be parked in designated spots within the parking lot at the new Boathouse. Follow the attached directions. Please email capsprints@capitalrowing.org immediately if you are bringing a boat trailer or driving a car with shell(s) on top. New Course and Traffic Pattern: With the new boathouse upstream we have reversed the direction of the course. It is a straight 1000 meter course passing through the Pennsylvania Bridge around the 250m to go mark finishing across from the launch docks allowing spectators a grand view of the finish. However, with a new course, it is very important that the coxswains acquaint themselves with the layout. The attached course layout will be discussed at the coxswains meeting posted at the boathouse. Apparel Sales: Get your 11th Annual Capital Sprints T-Shirts! T-Shirts will be available for purchase on Saturday. Sportgraphics: Sportgraphics will be taking photos and will be offering a 15% discount on all Cap Sprints photos up until 30 days after the event. !! Annual Capital Sprints Regatta Driving Directions: Parking at the new Boathouse is only for Boat Trailers, Car top Shells and Referees. All other vehicles must park at the Washington Navy Yard garage. A shuttle van will run between the Navy Yard and the new Boathouse. From Virginia to the new Boathouse: Take I-395 North across the 14th Street Bridge. Proceed past the Maine Avenue exit. Get into the left lane and head towards I-295. Proceed past the South Capital Street exit. Take the next exit for 6th Street SE/NavyYard. At the bottom of the ramp, go through the two lights. At the next light, make a RIGHT onto 8th Street SE. Proceed to M Street, SE and take a LEFT. Continue on M Street approximately 1 ! miles to the new Anacostia Community Boathouse. (Note that shortly after passing 12th street, M Street becomes a narrow two-lane road.) Park in designated areas inside the chain linked fence. From Maryland to the new Boathouse: Take I-295 South. Pass exits East Capital Street & Pennsylvania Avenue. Take the exit for Suitland Parkway. DO NOT GET OFF THE RAMP. Follow the ramp around a full 360 degrees and re-enter I-295 North. Take the first exit for Washington Navy Yard & I-395. Go over the bridge and get into the right middle lane. Merge right following signs for the Washington Navy Yard. Continue until you come to a dead end at the intersection with M Street. Turn right on M Street and go approximately 1 mile to the new Anacostia Community Boathouse. (Note that shortly after passing 12th street, M Street becomes a narrow two-lane road.) Park in designated areas inside the chain linked fence.
