This is the use of estrogen and/or progestin to replace low hormone levels. It is most commonly used when women are going through or after menopause. HRT is issued in several forms, including tablets, patches and creams. The signs and symptoms of low hormone levels include hot flashes, sleep loss, depression, nervousness, tiredness, vaginal dryness and trouble staying focused. It can also contribute to osteoporosis or brittle bones with low density which break easily and heart disease. Although there are benefits to HRT, it is not beneficial or safe for everyone, especially those with a history of breast cancer, cancer of the uterus and ovaries, heart disease, high blood pressure, blood clots and strokes. Individuals using HRT can experience side effects including bloating, breast tenderness and swelling, headaches, mood changes, nausea and vaginal bleeding. Side effects from HRT do not necessarily lead to discontinuation of therapy. Changes in the dose or dosage form might be neces- sary and don’t discontinue HRT without talking with your physician. It is also important to point out that only specific vaginal creams and not petroleum jelly should be used for dryness of the vagina. Only your physician can help you determine if HRT is the right choice for you. If you are considering HRT, you and your physician should discuss the benefits and risks involved. - Dr. Dan Page 3 1 Sunday 2 9:30 New Start Community Church 11:30 Church Service/Chapel 1:00 Swift Presbyterian Church Monday 3 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 9:00 Devotions: ALF Tuesday Wednesday 8 12 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 10:00 Bible Study: GL 13 9:00 Devotions: ALF 10:00 Merry Mermaids: CP 15 1:00 Matinee Movie: C 1:00 Catholic Service CH 14 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 9:30 Shopping for you @ Winn Dixie 1:15 - 3:00 Massage Therapy with Melissa: ALF 18 8:45 Exercise w/Anna: C 9:00 Devotions: ALF 10:00 Bible Study CH 11:00 Big Daddy’s for Lunch 1:00 Readers & Writers: C 19 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 10:00 Bible Study 20 21 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 9:30 Shopping @ Walmart 22 25 8:45 Exercise w/Anna: C 9:00 Devotions: ALF 10:00 Bible Study CH 26 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 10:00 Bible Study 9 10 9:30 New Start Community 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP Church 9:00 Devotions: ALF 11:30 Church Service/Chapel 1:00 Bingo: GL 11 16 17 9:30 New Start Community 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP Church 11:30 Church Service/Chapel 9:00 Devotions: ALF 23 24 9:30 New Start Community 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP Church 11:30 Church Service/Chapel 9:00 Devotions: ALF 1:00 Bingo: GL 8:45 Exercise w/Anna: C 9:00 Devotions: ALF 10:00 Bible Study CH 11:00 Verizon Workshop: C 1:00 Readers & Writers: C 5:00 Luau: DR 1:00 Readers & Writers: C 30 31 9:30 New Start Community 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP Church 11:30 Church Service/Chapel 9:00 Devotions: ALF 2:00 Dual Campus Halloween Party: ALF Saturday 7 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 9:30 Shopping @ Walmart 11:00 Digital Library 1:30 Arts & Craft: ALF 5 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 10:00 Bible Study: GL 1:00 Bingo: GL Friday 6 8:45 Motley Crew Men’s Coffee: C 9:00 Devotions: ALF 10:00 Merry Mermaids: CP 11:00 Bible Study CH 1:15 - 3:00 Massage Therapy 4 8:45 Exercise w/Anna: C 9:00 Devotions: ALF 10:00 Bible Study CH 1:00 Readers & Writers: C 1:00 Bingo: GL Thursday 1:00 Po-Keno: GL 1:00 Mexican Train Dominoes: GL 1:00 Catholic Service CH 1:00 Hand & Foot: GL 1:00 Catholic Service CH 2:00 Medicare Info Legends for ILF Activities GL = Gardens Lobby ALF = Assisted Living C = Clubhouse CP = Clubhouse Pool DR = Dining Room @ ALF 8:45 Motley Crew Men’s Coffee: C 9:00 Devotions: ALF 10:00 Merry Mermaids: CP 11:00 Bible Study CH 1:15 - 3:00 Massage Therapy 2:00 Ladies’ Chitchat: C 3-5:00 Shred It Day 27 9:00 Devotions: ALF 11:00 Bible Study CH NO Merry Mermaids today 1:15 - 3:00 Massage Therapy with Melissa: ALF 1:30 Arts & Crafts: ALF 4:30 Happy Hour: GL 28 8:45 Water Aerobics: CP 9:30 Shopping for you @ Winn Dixie “Meals for You” delivery is at Water Aerobics Schedule: 12 noon Monday through Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. and Friday Ladies Class at 8:45 AM Men’s Class at 10:00 AM 29 WEEKLY EVENTS Church Services Sundays 9:30 AM & 11:30 AM (Chapel) Morning Devotions Monday– Friday 9:00 AM (Chapel) Bingo Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Activity Room) Exercise Monday– Friday (Activity Room) Bible Study Tuesday 10:00 AM Foley Methodist (Chapel) Bible Study w/Dr. Bob Thursday 11:00 AM (Chapel) Bible Study Thursday 3:00 PM Gulf Shores Baptist (Chapel) Shopping Thursday 9:00 AM (see calendar for info) Community Senior Life … Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for an ever-growing senior population.
