JCC Mission
The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus (JCC) is a human services agency committed to enhancing the
quality of family life and promoting the physical, intellectual and spiritual wellness of the individual. The JCC
provides health-related activities, cultural and educational programs that serve the community at large, including
populations at risk. The organization is rooted in Jewish tradition and culture and puts Jewish values to work. The
JCC welcomes all people, regardless of religious affiliation.
History
The JCC has served Columbus since 1913, when a meeting place for new immigrants and members of the Jewish
community opened on South Washington Avenue. As the needs of the community have grown, so have the facilities
and services offered at the JCC. This thriving community organization currently serves some 30,000 members and
non-members from 62 Central Ohio zip codes. Dedicated to the physical, cultural and educational enrichment of
individuals and families, the JCC plays a significant role in the Central Ohio community.
