Aurina Valley - Head of the Ahrntal Valley
Aurina Valley - Head of the Ahrntal Valley
Head of the Ahrntal Valley The Ahrntal Valley extends from Luttago (Luttach) to
Casere (Kasern). Approximately 80 three-thousand-meter-plus peaks encircle the
picturesque valley, which is located within Rieserferner Ahrn Nature Park. The village
of Casere is situated at an altitude of 1,582 meters, at the foot of the 3,500-meter
Dreiherrenspitze Peak, and is Italy’s northernmost village. From the village, it’s about
a 20-minute walk to the Church of the Holy Spirit (Heilig-Geist-Kirche), or 5 minutes by
car along the forest road (permit required). The rearmost part of the Ahrntal Valley is
relatively sure to have snow from late November to late March.
