In the month of December alone, Kelly helped in the library and in her children’s classrooms, put together Wednesday folders each week, assisted with the Book Fair and helped at Breakfast With Santa. We appreciate all you do! If you happen to be at Blue Corn Harvest and notice the awesome artwork created by Winkley students, please thank FRANCINE TUCKER! She spearheaded this endeavor after talking with the restaurant owners and Mrs. Wiesler to recognize Winkley artists. With help from the PTA, she purchased the frames and changes out the artwork selected by Mrs. Weisler every month. Thanks for all your extra efforts Francine! Our Blue Bag at home volunteers are working hard on teacher tasks year round! A special shout out to CHRIS SHERRY for all the hours she logged to help the first grade teachers create file folders games for their grade level. Thank you! Our teachers and staff enjoyed the coffee/hot cocoa bar and breakfast treats in January as part of the “Warm Your Hear” staff appreciation event. Thank you so much to all that contributed. We love spoiling our teachers! We have a few areas of need to finish out the school year: We are in need of volunteers to help Mrs. Deaton in the library with the student check out and re-shelving books throughout the day. If you are interested, contact Mrs. Deaton directly in the library or Elizabeth Moran ectmoran@yahoo.com. Do you enjoy running and want to share your passion with the students at Winkley? We are looking for a new Run Club chair, as Mrs. Joelle Afflitto has reluctantly had to step down due to her substitute teaching commitments. The Run Club meets each Monday from 2:45-3:45 pm, starting in March…. Running (get it??!) through the beginning of May. Please let Jennifer Egelsee know if you are interested. One of the most exciting days of the school year for our students is May 2nd… FIELD DAY!! If you would be interested in spearheading this committee, please contact Heather Crowheather.crow@hotmail.com. for more information. We have a large committee willing to help. Don’t forget to make sure you have a current LISD background check on file. https://volunteer.leanderisd.org/pub/default.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fwelcome.aspx It is astounding how many hours our volunteers log each month! Winkley students and teachers love to see the smiling faces of our amazing volunteers. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents!
