For twenty years now, Gail Kroop has worked
together with me and you as we share in creating
this sacred community of ours known as Anshe
Emeth. Gail has been, and continues to be, my
partner in serving you and leading you from one
generation to the next. I am privileged to teach,
preach, hatch, match, and dispatch; Gail does all
the rest - run the office, keep the overused and
often abused building in shape, supervise the staff,
make sure all the bills are paid, send out all of the
bills, oversee the Bulletin, and so much. She is
often the unsung hero of our congregation because
so much of what she does never comes before the
public eye.
How lucky I am to have a partner like Gail,
because she is more than co-worker or employee.
How blessed we are as congregation to have Gail
as our Executive Director. Gail is first and foremost a Jew, committed to living Jewish values in
her life and in her work. She has an unbelievable
work ethic; she is often here before the sun rises
and leaves far later than after the sun sets. She
cares about everyone and always treats people
with kindness, dignity, and respect.
When I first met Gail we were parents of
children in the same grade. We got to know each
other and became friends . She would often tell me
that her dream was to be able to combine career
work and volunteer work into one job. So when
we were in need of a new Executive Director we
asked her to do just that; she did and she still does,
and in wonderful ways. I don't think anyone
could perform her job and do it well unless it is a
labor of love and commitment. How grateful we
are to Gail for that and so much more.
And that is why our Temple's leadership has
chosen Gail to be this coming year's recipient of
our Crown of Torah award. She is certainly
worthy of such a title and she is also so deserving
of our gratitude and thanks. So please mark
Sunday morning, October 28 on your calendar.
At that time we will celebrate all that Gail means
to us.

8 th for another great year. We will celebrate
Israel 60 th Anniversary the whole year and
will have lots of activities about Israel.

AETY's Closing event of the year will take place
on Sunday, June LO, 2007!! Join us for a great
day at the beach!!! We will meet at Anshe Emeth
at 9:45 am, and we will return to Anshe Emeth at
