UNCHARTED, WILD, ROMANTIC
A holiday that takes you sailing to one of the Quirimbas
Archipelago islands will probably be the best decision you
make all year. These remote islands, off the coast of northern
Mozambique close to Pemba, are still relatively wild and

a special island yacht safari package to Ibo, Azura Quilalea,
Matemo, Vamizi or Medjumbe Islands and be surprised by the
wondrous settings, white beaches and sparkling clear blue
seas!
Once known as the Islands of Lazarus, the Quirimbas
Archipelago is brimming with history - Arab trading posts and
Portuguese trading routes dominated these seas many
decades ago. Take Ibo Island for example: architecture here
dates back to the 1500′s when forts served as military
bastions and slave trading houses lined the shores. Today, Ibo
is a melting pot of influences from Africa, the Arab region, India
and Europe and one of more than 32 islands which stretch
some 110 miles along the East Africa coast.
Diving and snorkelling in the Quirimbas Archipelago reveals to
avid divers a maze of phenomenal drop-offs, atolls and diverse
coral species.
For the first time in your life you will come across unpopulated
islands with their pretty white beaches, warm clear ocean
water and still intact coral reefs. You will meet humble
indigenous people who still live as they have been doing for
centuries local fishermen cruise the sea in their traditional
Arab style sailing dhows, finding their way around secluded
mangrove swamps and channels to feed their families. You will
love the fact that the Ilha Quirimbas is still undeveloped and
lacks mechanisation lodges aspire to be green and
responsible travel is the name of the game.
Your private yacht charter will be silent and as environmentally
ethical as possible, subscribing to the ideals of sustainable
tourism.
