A message from the
Chairman of the Board
Dear Fellow Chamber Members,
Where did the first two months of 2016 go? It is hard to believe that we are
already in March and well on our way to wrapping up the first quarter of
this year. Before we start preparing for the next big Chamber opportunity,
I would like to give thanks and kudos to all those who participated in the
Epicurean Evening at Space Center Houston and the rescheduled Cupid’s
Boat Parade. Special thanks to Committee Chairmen, Matt Wev with
Jackie’s Brickhouse and Jim Christiansen with Lockheed Martin, along
with their committees for pulling off such successful events that do so
much to promote our local area and business community.
Attention all golfers!! The Spring Fever Golf Tournament is just around
the corner and there are just a few team openings left before the fun begins
on Monday, March 28, 2016. There are also sponsorship opportunities at
multiple levels available. Call the Chamber today to see what opportunities
await for you to promote your business.
Next up is the Buy Into Bay Area Business and Wellness Expo. Always well attended, the Expo is enjoyed by
our fellow chamber members & community residents. Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is once again our Host
Sponsor for the May 12th event. What a great opportunity to showcase your company, service or non-profit.
Registration is now open. Shopping local and doing business with the community is a basic core value of the
Chamber and I encourage you to participate.
Lastly, one of my most favorite events, due to my lack of athletic ability, is our “No Experience Necessary”
bowling tournament coming up June 2nd. What a fun way to do some team building with your staff and have
fun at the same time! Team spots sell out fast so register your business as a sponsor or a bowling team to join
the fun.
I have missed seeing some of my fellow chamber members at the Business After Hours mixers and General
Membership monthly luncheons. When you receive emails with updates of upcoming events, mark your
calendar immediately and make plans to attend. Don’t miss an opportunity to represent your business at these
networking and social events. Cheers for now!
