Trinity Epistle
February 2016
It is one of those years where pastors found themselves
thinking about Lent even before Christmas decorations come
down. Since Easter is much earlier this year, Lent also comes
earlier than most years. By the time you read this Ash
Wednesday will be les than two weeks away. It seems we just
finished Christmas and already Lent is upon us.
This year during the 40 days of Lent we will take the
familiar journey through repentance over sin and receiving the
gift of God’s grace and forgiveness because of what Christ has
done for us. We know that as people of God, Lent is a mere 40 days and Easter is waiting for us
on the other side of that journey. We live out the season of Lent as Easter people in the hope of
the resurrection. This will be the theme as we live the season of lent.
As always our Lenten season will be marked with our mid-week worship services. We will
have the meals sponsored by the various groups prior to each of those mid-week services. We will
celebrate Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday followed by Good Friday. At the end of it all we will
come to the anticipated celebration of Christ’s resurrection, Easter Sunday. This Lent season will
be similar to all those Lenten journeys we have had before. Yet, this year we will experience the
Lenten journey as Easter people of God.
On another page of this bulletin you will see the whole Lenten schedule. Feel free to share
this schedule. Look forward to making this journey together as we once again receive the
assurance that our sins are forgiven and our day of resurrection salvation is certain.

Keep those Shoes Coming!
You are doing a tremendous job of helping us collect our shoes for NYG and
education support throughout the world.
Do you know that your shoes are helping mothers afford education for their
children in places like Haiti and Indonesia?
If you are done cleaning out your closets, enlist the help of friends and family. Share our project
on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter or just by word of mouth. We want to reach our goal of
100 bags, and we can’t do it without you!
February Faith Milestone
This month our Faith Milestone will be celebrating our Pre-K
Students and their families. They will be given a Read and Share
Bible which includes two DVDS so that they can watch the stories as
well.
Let’s celebrate their milestone on February 21st at the 10:30 am Worship.
Sunday School News:
February Sunday School Theme is “Cooperation— working together to do
more than you can do alone.” Remember that we start in the music room
on Sunday mornings for opening worship.
High School Youth are working
through the “Not a Fan” series in the youth room on Sunday
Mornings. We are discovering the difference between being a
fan of God’s vs. being a Follower.

JOIN THE TRINITY VOLUNTEER TEAM…
Texas District Church Extension Fund
We have been blessed with many volunteers so far this year! Thank you!
Yet, we want to continue to encourage and support you with
opportunities to reach out and share your gifts and skills with us! Please
keep these in mind where you might want to volunteer some time to help:
 Be a mentor to a student. As simple as coming in to read to them.
 Create a Thrivent Action Team and support a Trinity project.
 Help in the church or school office when the need occurs.
 We need those handy with tools to help install various items.
 Help with project needs in our school lunchroom.
 If you see any area needing help or any opportunity that you see where you might want to volunteer
your time and talents, feel free to ask and join in being a part of the Trinity Volunteer Team!
What is most important is the opportunity to use God’s gifts to be a blessing to the lives of God’s precious
children. There will be more opportunities for volunteer help in the future. ALL volunteers are always
greatly appreciated. Contact the school office for how you can be part of our One Family here at TLCS!
Trinity’s Birthday
Our Birthday Challenge for 2016 Continues…
Our matching challenge gives everybody an avenue to honor the
blessings God has given you through a special gift to the school
ministry. Celebrate your birthday with a gift! Celebrate a loved one’s
day too!!!
See Mr. Ryan for details on how you can be part of this year’s
challenge!
