Christmas 2015 - Missionary Flights International
The Strattons KEVIN | FAYDRA | KADEN | BLUE | TOBY Missionary Flights International With your support of our ministry, we’ve been able to accomplish many things at MFI this year. Over 150 flights and more than 1,000 flight hours in support of missions in Haiti, the DR, and the Bahamas such as this school and orphanage in Cap-Haitien, Haiti. Faydra and Kevin traveled to Haiti in June in support of MFI’s media efforts for better photos and video. A Haitian boy took this photo of Faydra singing. MFI flew close to 300,000 lbs of supplies to missions this year which really does help children such as these at Grace Mission to be more comfortable and to have fun. We transported 60,000 lbs of Hurricane Joaquin relief to the devastated islands of the southern Bahamas. Year in Review Kaden is now eleven and in 6th grade and still figuring out how to balance so many teachers and assignments. His favorite subject is art. As a middle schooler, he has moved up to the youth group and loves it… even though? because? Kevin is his teacher on Wednesday nights. Blue will be nine December first. We celebrated with a painting party the Sunday after Thanksgiving. He’s in third grade and loves reading. Kaden and Blue started guitar lessons in March and have kept it up. They also horseback ride regularly with Faydra’s mom. Toby is six and in first grade. Toby loves to go to the beach, play his iPad, and watch movies. Blue and Toby are still involved in Awanas. I help in this ministry teaching 3rd-5th grade girls each week. No major trips this year, but a few kid-free short ones for Kevin and me. In June we traveled to Haiti for MFI to visit with a number of ministries. Then in August we did an anniversary trip (14 years!) to The Keys. We went back to The Keys with the kids in October for our 2nd annual Bahia Honda camping trip. This time Kevin’s mom came too! I volunteer at the boys’ school, and continue to write. I have a short story forthcoming in the literary magazine Dappled Things, but most of my energy is on longer works and querying traditional publishing routes. We hope 2015 has been a fruitful year for you and yours. Merry Christmas!
