I even wanted to create a jingle to the tune "Be Our Guest"– it’s that kind of welcome we want you to have when you arrive here. It’s taken a few years for Disney to give us the rights to the show, but I couldn’t be more excited about it. It’s no secret that I love our summer family productions. It brings us all such incredible joy and warmth to see the theater filled with generations of smiles and laughter. Nothing makes me feel better about coming to work every day than knowing that we will be graced with a building filled with kids – and those young at heart! Thank you for being part of that joy. I also want to thank the good folks at Snyder Heating & Air Conditioning for their support of Beauty and the Beast. This is their second year as presenting sponsor of the summer show, and we are grateful for their support. Ed, Michelle and the rest of the Snyder crew (including Snyder Man), take as much pride in this show as we do. We’ll take some smiles on the road too, as the cast and Snyder Man go downtown to visit the children’s hospitals! We are also excited to be joined by the folks at Theatre on a Mission, who will be collecting school supplies during the run of Beauty and the Beast and then taking those goodies to Kenya where they help educate children through theater. On June 20, they will be hosting their own fundraiser here at the Alhambra. If you’re interested you can find information on their website at www.theatreonamission.org. The rest of the summer is shaping up to be a good one with Smokey Joe’s Café opening in July, followed by Sister Act and then the return of Hank and His Honky Tonk Heroes with Jason Petty playing Hank Williams. I hope to see you often and thank you for being our guest tonight!
