Ventilation with used oils, before process of regeneration-20 motors, production of electricity- 22 Mw Waste: 75.000 Tm/year . 35.000 Tm compost ( used straw + lixiviates) three months of fermentation Water cleaning from the hidroponic cultivation-Macrophytes (wetlands) Investment: 56 m€ European Union participation 6 m€ (PRODER) REGIONAL WASTE TREATMENT CENTER IN El MERUELO-CANTABRIA CENTRO REGIONAL DE TRATAMIENTO DE RESIDUOS DE “EL MERUELO” - CANTABRIA Integrated treatment of solid urban waste of the region Installation of support: 8 transfer stations 34 collection points 11 collection points in the port Treatment of 230.000 Tm per yera of urban waste (160.000 Tm organic material ) Compost: 160.000 Tm – 2 months of turning around and fermentation -80.000 Tm of rough compost –refining 23.000 Tm quality compost Treatment of gases and smells with biofilters 30% rejected material- incineration . Energy recovered 8 Mw Recover: 6.100 Tm asphalt and aluminium 4800 Tm plastic 9300 Tm paper cardboard 1800 Tm glass Support plant in “El mazo” Torrelavega Investment: 36,5 m€ Participation of European Union with Cohesion Fund: 80% CLEANING OF THE GULF OF SANTANDER SANEAMIENTO INTEGRAL BAHIA DE SANTANDER Cleaning of the gulf of Santander where the biggest part of the industry resides in the region, the city of Santander (250.000 inhabitants - half of the population of the region of Cantabria) and the port with its installations Previous situation: daily residuary waters : 68.000 m3 of residuary waters 21 Tm organic material 13 Tm solid 1st PHASE : a general collector of 30km round the gulf, together with: Contamination prevention plan, residuary water leakage control, and correction at source of contaminating sources, reduction of water use, compliance with the legislation on toxic waste and hazardous waste, monitoring plan and control plan, information and public awareness campaigns. 2nd PHASE: Construction of pomping station EDAR and underwater emission 3rd PHASE : Improvement and Enlargement of EDAR Investment: 101,6 m€ Participation of the European Commission : PHASE 1 FEDER (70%) PHASE 2 and 3 Cohesion Fund (80%).. REGIONAL PROGRAM OF CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLMENT OF AGRICULTURE-RELATED WASTE DEPOSITS Construction of 20 waste deposits, for waste coming from products used in agriculture in 20 villages in the province of Soria. Construction of buildings for oil waste depositing, oil waste coming from hidrocarbon oil from tractors, waste and packing of pesticides and used batteries Raising awareness by the Administration Awareness of farmers in 20 villages Agreement and participation of a company of waste collection Restauration of abandoned houses Control by farmers and Mayors Investment: 63.000 € European Commission 70% FEOGA OTHER INTERESTING PROJECTS OTROS PROYECTOS INTERESANTES EDAR OF Santa Coloma de Gramanet ( Barcelona) Urban Restauration of the RULL and RAVAL neighbourhoods in Barcelona Environmental park in Palma de Mallorca Waste treatment by the Council of Agriculture of la Rivera (Valencia) Urban Waste treatment complex in Valdemingomez (Madrid) This document does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Commision.
