Zlin Z242 Aerobatic Airplane Z 242L is a two seat side-by
Zlin Z242 Aerobatic Airplane
Z 242L is a two seat side-by-side training and fully aerobatic aircraft. Powered by
Textron Lycoming AEIO-360A1B6 Engine (200hp) with Constant Speed MT Propeller.
Designed for flight load factors of + 6g to -3,5g, the ZLIN Z 242 L is suited for a variety
of training, aerobatics and utility applications.
The ZLIN Z 242 L boasts a 44” wide spacious and airy co-cockpit making even the
largest of pilots feel comfortable. The sliding bubble canopy provides exceptional
visibility leaving pilots and passengers at ease allowing them to fully enjoy and
experience the flight. I previously had an L21, wife hated tandem seating.
200 hp engine together with the Christen inverted-flight oil system, offers the highest
reliability.
This ZLIN Z 242 L is equipped with a wide variety of instruments and avionics making it
suitable for day and night, VFR and IFR operations.
This aircraft has factory installed glider and banner tow package. All inspection panels
and cowling have quick release Dzus fasteners, wing inspection panels can be opened
with just one finger.

I have owned this airplane for around 10 years but had little time to fly it due to work and
family obligations. Also I give flight instruction in gliders and other singles and twins so I
reserved this airplane for times when I wanted something different and fun. I have not
put any aerobatic hours on this airplane; I loved it as an instrument currency machine
and personal toy. Always hangered at KEZF in hanger 7.
Instruction and a checkout will be provided for the purchaser and I can deliver the
airplane almost anywhere in the lower 48 for fuel (I love to fly this airplane and would
love an excuse to fly it to the west coast or Colorado). Let me know what you want.
Everything is negotiable.
I will probably put additional photos or information on my website at
www.aviationpt.com. Email with any questions, comments or just to talk aviation. You
can see my background and resume on my website. Phone 540-720-7581.
Reason for sale, recently retired, have lots of time now, I want a tail dragger. Otherwise
I would never sell this airplane. Wife won’t let me have more than one plane at a time
anymore (I know but I love her more than my toys).
