On the Winning Side With Training
Dear reader,
Switching on, setting, producing –
if it was just that easy to start up
a new line. But why not? With the
right preparations, every line can be
brought to full potential with ease.
All you need here is targeted training. What applies to sports applies
to our industry as well: Good
material is the best basis. However,
for winning, you need people who
know how to handle it.
Therefore, the Krones Academy
courses are conceived in such a
4
way that your staff will be able
to get the best out of the existing technology. In short and crisp
learning units you will find out
all you need to achieve a safe and
efficient high-quality production.
Sound basic knowledge is part of
the learning targets, just as the
ability to independently handle
the machines. Numerous practical
exercises on original Krones equipment and well-proven methods for
optimising the change-over time,
such as SMED, will swiftly lead your
staff and your line onto the fast lane.
And the best thing about it is: Back
in your factory, the training effect
will manifest itself at once – in short
change-over times and increased
productivity.

Head of Krones Academy

Open Training
Individual Training
Interactive and uncomplicated: In
our open trainings, participants
from different companies get
together in the Krones Academy.
Instructed by the trainers and
communicating with each other,
they develop a particular technique,
method or skill together.
If you want to participate in an
open training, you don't need to do
anything more than registering and
arriving. We assume all organisation
and conception of the course. You
will find all topics, dates and locations of the open trainings in the
course descriptions on the following
pages.

Bespoke and focused: Your company and your needs are the central
points of our individual trainings.
You choose the participants and
define the learning targets you
want to reach. We conceive a
bespoke programme for you that
will exactly meet your specifications
and the level of knowledge of the
participants.
The individual trainings will be held
as needed: either in your company
or at any other location of your
choice. Just call us – and we will
work out together with you how we
can best put your requests, ideas
and training objectives into action.

Plastics Technology
Perfect PET
The light and break-proof PET plastic
bottles have substituted glass
bottles as prime packaging material
quite a while ago. With the Contiform stretch blow-moulder series,
krones offers consumption-optimised lines on which PET bottles
can be produced in a variety of
shapes and sizes from preforms.
14
To precisely fulfil the specific
requirements of the customers, the
machines are available in several
sizes and model variants.
In addition, we support our customers in the development of the
packaging and the individual design
of their PET bottles.

Filling Technology
We leave no bottle empty
They can be sparkling or still, some
are technically sophisticated while
others are less complicated, some
look great in PET containers, others
in glass bottles or cans: There is a
huge amount of variety in beverage
types – and it's almost infinite when
the various types of container are
considered as well. krones filling
technology is a match for every one
of these possibilities. That's because
it comprises a large selection of
filling processes, performance spectrums and hygiene levels.
22
Bottling sensitive beverages with
our aseptic lines, handling food
products with exacting demands
with the Viscofill piston filler, or
natural fruit pieces in exquisite
juices with the krones Twin-Flow
process: Our filling systems meet
every challenge.

Labelling Technology
Sits perfectly and looks good
The beverages market is characterised by new trends, new products,
new groups of buyers and new
markets. The beverage producer has
to include maximum flexibility in
the planning of his production steps
so that he can start new campaigns
and market new products quickly.
The label plays a critical role. It is
important that the label is positioned precisely at the very highest
speed.
34
KRONES has the right highly flexible
machines for every shape and
design. We can handle labels in cold
gluing and hotmelt processes just
as easily as self-adhesive labels.
krones also offers innovative
solutions for sleeves that are shrunk
onto the bottle.

Inspection Technology
Safe and lightning-quick
When food is being produced
and processed, it is essential that
every production step is monitored
closely. This responsible task is handled by our inspection technology.
High-resolution camera systems
inspect cleaned bottles before they
are filled in order to ensure that
there is no dirt or foreign object in
the container.
50
After filling and labelling, a check
is made to determine whether the
fill level is correct and the cap and
label are in the correct position.
Everything is done at a breathtaking
speed. The seamless documentation
of the production and control data
makes the process perfect.

KRONES Competency Audit
How does your operator team cope
with the complex line technology?
Is training required, and if so, on
what issues? Our “Competency
Audit” provides objective answers
to such questions. We test during
running production how safely and
professionally the line is started,
operated, shutdown and converted.
64
The Competency Audit combines
theoretical questions with practical
exercises, and takes two to four
hours for each participant.
We recommend conducting this
assessment about six months after
a training or in cases in which the
performance is not what you expect
and you need a status and development plan.
Individual Documentation
We will be happy to help you with
all questions concerning scheduling,
organisation and performance of
the Competency Audit.
Please contact us.
SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
Easy to understand step-by-step instructions
The KRONES Academy develops
individual SOPs for your company.
For this purpose, our experienced
technical writers develop work
instructions in cooperation with
your production staff. These handson instructions are easy to understand. Rich illustration and terse
text clearly depict the step-by-step
instructions.
We will be happy to help you with
all questions concerning scheduling, organisation and creation of
your individual documentation.

Electrical Technology
Very often, mechanical sequences
and interrelationships can be identified and understood just through
intent observation. In the world of
electrics, sound knowledge that
has been acquired in trainings is
indispensable. Targeted training on
all electronic components, wiring
diagram systems, control systems
and drives as well as software and
touch-screen management convey
confidence for your daily production

routine with the krones line. No
matter whether a mechanic wants
to familiarise her- or himself with
the basics of electrotechnology, or
a maintenance manager wants to
increase the quality and efficiency
of the line by means of targeted
electrotechnology training: On the
following pages you will find the
adequate training package.
