TUTORIAL #4: BIG IMPROVEMENTS TO HOW YOU CAN TRANSFER YOUR DOMAINS TO DOMAINSATCOST.CA! This bright and detailed tutorial is designed to help you seamlessly integrate into our new website! Found in this tutorial is a screen capture of our coming soon newly-redesigned Domainsatcost.ca site. And on the screen capture, you’ll see arrows pointing to specific and important features found on the site. These arrows will help you become familiar with where the features are located on the site. And below the screen capture, you’ll also find corresponding text including helpful descriptions of what the highlighted features are all about. So let’s get started! Transferring to Domainsatcost.ca is now easier than ever! Domainsatcost.ca now accepts bulk transfers, all you’ve got to do is simply cut and paste the list of domains you want to transfer or upload a list of them. The steps to submit your transfers are listed for you below. A. Transfer Page From our homepage you can either login to your account and then click on Transfer, at the top of the page or you may click “Transfer” without logging in. On the Transfer page shown below, you’ll see you now have three options for submitting your transfers. B. Transfer Single Domain This option is used to submit a single domain for transfer. Simply type the domain name into the search box displayed when this option is expanded and click the search button. C. Transfer Many Domains This new option allows you to transfer multiple domains by cutting and pasting them into the provided box as seen in the screen capture below. You can include the authorization codes in this box as well or leave them out and be prompted for them on the next page. D. Upload List This is another new option; if you have a list of domain you want to transfer you can upload that list of domains with their authorization codes. Transferring in bulk has never been easier! Again you may include the authorization codes in the file or be prompted for them on the next screen. E. Results Summery Once you’ve entered the domain you want to transfer, our system will do a quick check to make sure the domains are registered and haven’t previously been submitted for transfer. A result of ‘Available’ means the domain can be transferred. F, G. SUBMIT TRANSFER Now check off the box next to each domain for the domains you wish to transfer and enter authorization codes if they were not previously provided. The text box next to each domain is used to enter the authorization code for that domain. To proceed with the transfer you would then click on the Continue button. H, I, J. SHOPPING CART You are now taken to the Shopping Cart page to confirm your order details and make payment. If there are domains in the order you no longer wish to transfer you may remove them using the link named “Remove”. Once your order is as you want it check the Terms of Service box and click the Process order button. Not sure what’s happening with your transfers once they’ve been submitted? We’ve got a solution for that, too! Domainsatcost.ca is proud to introduce you to the all-new Transfer Manager, a tool that enables you to track the progress of your transfers through the various stages of the transfer process! No more wondering about what’s going on with your domain transfers, simply check the Transfer Manager to see exactly what stage they’re in. K. Transfer Manager When you login to your Transfer Manager, by default it will show you ALL your transfers currently in progress. If you want to view one of your domains in transfer, use the search box to search for that specific domain. L, M. Transfer Status Should you wish to view a specific set of domains in transfer, click on a category found in the Transfer Status box located on the left hand side of the page. This box creates a list of status’s which are organized by user friendliness/intuitiveness. Once you have found the “Status” you wish to view then click the “View” button. Similar to the Domain Manager, the body of the page will populate with the data you have filtered. From this page you can select how many domains you want to see per page, you can export the entire list to CSV and all columns are sizeable by dragging the headers to the desired size. The “Status” column identifies the current status of the domain in transfer, the “Changed” column identifies the last date when the domain status was updated and the “Expires” column identifies the domain’s expiration date which is important to know should the transfer be delayed. N, O, P. Resubmit Transfer In the past, one would have to contact their current registrar to retrieve their proper authorization code, and then they would have to email that authorization code to our Customer Service Team where the team would then update the system and resubmit the transfer. As you can probably imagine, this process could have taken anywhere from hours to days to complete. Now you can do this in real-time through the Transfer Manager by being able to update the authorization code and resubmit the transfer to the registry yourself. Simply enter the new authorization code into the field provided, then check the box next to the domain name and click on the Reprocess Selected button, how easy is that! Like what you see? Have any comments? Feel free to send your thoughts to feedback@domainsatcost.ca. We’d love to hear from you!
