Thank you! Jack Callaghan Public School Students and teachers collected 372 pounds of nonperishable food items to help our inventory! HOW MANY POUNDS OF FOOD CAN YOU CRAM INTO A CRUISER?...... 1725! The “Cram the Cruiser” event was a great success despite the weather! A big thanks go to the enthusiastic support of Carrie Jenkins (Kawartha Lakes Police Service) and customers of Loblaw OTHER GENEROUS DONATIONS! Kawartha Lakes This Week Fall Home and Craft Show brought in amazing 3168 pounds of nonperishable food items as well as cash donations. I.E. Weldon Secondary School “12 Days of Christmas” event: Students & staff collected 1892 pounds of non-perishable food items. Farm Credit Canada “Drive Away Hunger” annual campaign resulted in 1111 pounds of non-perishable food items. Page 2 How People are Helping Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association hosted annual Food Drive Non-perishable food items were collected from local real estate companies that amounted to approximately 850 pounds of food donations to our warehouse! Weldon Secondary School—873 pounds Central Senior School—630 pounds Leslie Frost Public School—715 pounds Rolling Hills Public School—530 pounds Thoughtful gesture from the Lindsay Tai Chi Club The club members presented a cheque to KLFS just in time for the holiday season Tim Horton's Food Drive brought in 645 pounds of non-perishable food items in November thanks to customers & staff at three of their locations. Fenelon Falls Home Hardware collected 145 pounds of non-perishable food items at their Ladies’ Night. Lindsay Antenna Retirees held their annual lunch and collected 157 pounds of food items. Canadian Tire Lindsay annual Ladies Night event brought in 166 pounds of food items from customers. The leadership team at Caressant Care—McLaughlin Road hosted their annual Christmas food drive and helped the warehouse with 316 pounds of non-perishable food items. Central Ontario Wolves Minor Atom Team made KLS their charity of choice for their Christmas party and collected 208 pounds of non-perishable food items. City of Kawartha Lakes (Library Services) “Food for Fines” initiative brought in 348 pounds of nonperishable food items plus cash. CKL Social Services collected 130 pounds of non-perishable food items in their office. Lindsay Recreation Centre staff and members collected 64 pounds of non-perishable food items to date. Lindsay Peterborough Movers collected 913 pounds of non-perishable food items at the Lindsay Santa Claus Parade. The entrance fee for the Lindsay Roller Derby league November event was a donation of food for KLFS. This open scrimmage contributed 190 pounds food items plus cash. Lindsay Senior Citizens Club collected 388 pounds of non-perishable food items and cash at their Christmas Festival. Mom 2 Mom Sale: 101 pounds on non-perishable food items as well as funds collected from the entrance fee were donated. “Extra helping Food Drive” Thanks to management, staff and customers of Loblaw & Valu-mart, this drive was a success. Along with financial donations, 4,215 pounds of non-perishable food items was collected! Ontario Clean Water Agency arranged a food drive at Strangs Valumart where customers “Overflowed the OCWA Truck” with 169 pounds of non-perishable food items plus monetary donations. The Kents band raised 117 pounds of non-perishable food items when they played at The Grand Experience. The Pampered Chef event raised over $600 plus representative/coordinator Maria Tohill made a donation. Spotlight Dance Productions contributed 141 pounds of non-perishable food items.
