The Harker School
On Fostering Youth
Entrepreneurship
NeerajBaid and NeelBhoopalam, Curators
Welcome to TEDxHarkerSchool, and thank you for joining us at one of the few
TEDx events around the globe lead solely by high school students. You are truly a part
of something completely new, different, and unique.
TEDxHarkerSchool has, and will always be about entrepreneurship, an idea that
has been around for millennia and will continue to stay relevant for eons to come. We,
as humans, have always been addicted to invention and entrepreneurship, whether it
be due to profit motivation, a will to increase quality of life, or a need to send a
message. It is only in the past century, however, that we have seen the
Entrepreneurship Bug bite youth and adults alike.
Here at TEDxHarkerSchool we’ll have the chance to foster and promote dialogue
regarding Youth Entrepreneurship, not only in the short term, but also in the long term.
You will experience three modes of interaction: one way, hearing a talk, one way with
feedback, Q&A, and two-way, a discussion, leaving you with a complete experience
meeting and interacting with world-famous, successful entrepreneurs as well as youth
driven by entrepreneurship just like you.
TED is all about Technology, Entertainment, and Design, and entrepreneurship,
especially Youth entrepreneurship, is vital in all three of these categories. We see
technology giants, entertainment icons, and design magnates all existing today for one
sole reason: the entrepreneurship coursing through their blood.
We hope that during your experience today, whether it be during your interaction with
attendees and speakers alike, and in the future, the importance of entrepreneurship is
an ideal that you will not only come to respect, but come to believe.
