Ashe Converting Equipment has 25 years experience in winding materials in reel form. The Opal Series of Turret Rewinders are designed in a way that even the hardest of 'in-line' application finishing is achieveable. The range enables the simplest of self adhesive label products, to unsupported materials to be run successfully at a constant output. 3 Spindle Entry Level Unit From the simplest of 'Competitively Priced' applications to the advanced 'glueless' Patented System, the Opal Turret Rewinder range has benefits for all narrow web producers. The range has 2 typical web widths: 420mm and 520mm (16" and 20"). Each Opal turret rewinder boasts 3 or 4 individually controlled a.c. brushless motors, individual motor control for each of the rewind positions as standard. This means that the range of products to be run can be vast on all specified units, from the basic model to an advanced totally glueless unit. The Opal turret rewinder series has been designed to accommodate all available options to customer's specific requirements. 3 Spindle models, classed as 'low cost entry level units' are available although the special standard design features of the Opal turret series are still included. All Opal turret rewinders are PLC based and a helpful tool for operation is the 'Operator's interface touch screen', enabling machine operation to alter depending on the type of product to be run. Every machine within the range can run light tensions or high tensions depending on operator settings, therefore, Opal turret rewinders can run a much wider range of products/substrates within the same machine. Optional Features available on all models Standard fixed rotary scissor slitting station. Lift off upgrade slitting station. Quick change cartridge slitting station (complete with offline set up system). Razor slitting section (added to rotary scissor station). Hot melt core gluing system (complete with 6 glue wheels). Hot melt tail gluing system. 4/2 rewind station option for maximum diameter reels of 400mm (16"). Air assisted turner bar for inside label winding. Finished reel collection tray. Large offload holding tray (for up to two finished runs). Patented glueless cinch mechanism for adhesive free starts. Coreless rewinding available with special rewind shafts. Automatic tail closure via label applicator. Print option for label tail closure. Automatic core loading - various options. End of roll marker facility. Various options for guaranteed separation of difficult products/substrates. Inline driven accumulator unit for continuous operation during special cycles (i.e. inter-label cutting). STANDARD SPECIFICATION OF ALL OPAL TURRET REWINDERS Web widths: 420mm (16”) and 520mm (20”). Maximum finished roll diameters: 300mm (12”) and/or 400mm (16”). Available core sizes to be run: Any size between 25mm (1”) and 76mm (3”). (Option available up to 152mm (6”)). Maximum machine speeds: 90m/min on shaft sizes between 25mm (1”) and 38mm (1½”). 150m/min on shaft sizes between 45mm (1¾”) and 76mm (3”). Count facilities: Total label count, feet or metres. Other Standard Features: Constant torque tension with taper tension as standard. 5 lane web divider system. Automatic reel push off system. Rotating offload gin pole (other systems available). Operator touch screen for various set-ups. Adjustable core positioning stop. 4 x 76mm (3”) rewind airshafts.
