OCTOBER 2012 LOUIS BAY 2ND Library and Community Center JK Rowling Visits Hawthorne! * Fabulous Foodies KICKOFF EVENT Learn to make Homemade Ravioli during the “Fabulous Foodies” kick-off event from 3 to 4:30 pm on Saturday, October 20. Relax, have fun and sample homemade ravioli created by Paul Beaugard of Bogies Hoagies. Mr. Beaugard, who attended the Culinary Institute of America, has been part of the restaurant industry since 1982. While living in Europe he honed his skills in France and Italy, including cooking at Michelin starred restaurants. Stateside, he has worked in fine Italian and French restaurants in New York City and is the former chef of several NJ country clubs. In 1990 Paul opened Beaugard’s Restaurant in Dumont, a highly regarded BYOB rated as “Best New Restaurant in North Jersey”, earning 4 stars from the Star Ledger, 3 stars from the New York Times and 3.5 stars from the Bergen Record. Mr. Beaugard will demonstrate the fine art of making pasta from scratch as well as share tips, recipes and samples of his homemade spinach and cheese ravioli. Registration is requested. The exhibit will include over sixty diverse works of art by over 30 artists in a variety of media including oil and watercolor paintings, prints, drawings, photography, and collage, as well as multimedia works. The PAA will hold a public reception on Saturday, October 13th from 2-4 pm; all are invited to attend. Awards will be presented at the reception and light refreshments will be served. The exhibit and the reception are free of charge.
