No complaints as to quality of bulbs, health, size or number will be entertained unless made immediately on receipt of bulbs, I will not be responsible for results of planting or forcing. Orders cannot be cancelled except by mutual consent. All bulbs travel at customers' risk and expense. Not less than 5 bulbs supplied at the 10 rate. All prices are for nett cash within two months from date of invoice. Receipts for payments by cheque are not sent unless requested. New customers are requested to send cash with order or satisfactory references. Orders are dispatched as far as possible during August and early September and any customer in the British Isles who has not received bulbs on order by the 20th September is requested to notify me immediately. Overseas orders will be insured at customers' expense, if required. Small lots of valuable bulbs can be sent by letter post or air mail if desired. Prices are given in new British Decimal Currency and U.S.A. Dollars, Dollar prices are based on the SPECIAL Concessionary Rate of £2.50 to £1.00 sterling and are subject to market fluctuations. A very late flowering deep self-golden trumpet of fine quality and substance, having very broad flat smooth perianth standing at right angles to the rather long straight sided trumpet; short necked on a very stout but rather short stem. A splendid late flowering yellow red of beautiful quality having broad smooth deep golden yellow perianth and nicely proportioned cfeeo red crown. Dunlop). An extremely beautiful and most striking flower bred from Mitylene x Painted Lady. The broad smooth petals are of sparkling white and the crown is of a most unusual and attractive bright orange with a slight tint of apricot in certain lights. A lovely show flower of splendid ouality most attractive character and delightful colouring having broad smooth sparkling icy white perianth and shallow white crown edged with a most entrancing pinkish orange rim. J. Dunlop). Kancheniunga. An outstanding giant flower of wonderful substance and quality having very large broad smooth overlapping perianth standing at right angles to the crown which opens pale cream soon passing to white. Tall strong stem and very good neck. 25p each, £2.25 per ten. 63 cents each, $5.63 per ten 3 BINKIE (Large-cupped 2d) 4 (Wolfhagen). A most distinct but rather curious seedling raised in Tasmania; it is really a reversed bicolour. A flower of very good form and quality, with broad, fiat, pointed perianth, and a well-proportioned cup. On first opening, the whole flower is clear sulphur-lemon, but the cup gradually passes to almost white. 15p each, £1.35 per ten. 38 cents each, $3.38 per ten BLARNEY (Small-cupped 3b) 4 (J. L. Richardson). F.C.C., R.H.S., 1946, as a Show flower. This is one of the most distinct and charming flowers yet introduced. It has a firm, satin-smooth snow-white perianth and a flat salmonorange crown with a narrow primrose rim. A flower of lovely quality, ideal as a Show Flower or Decorative Bloom. A most striking flower of the very largest size measuring up to 5 inches in diameter when grown here under my conditions of soil and climate. The broad smooth overlapping perianth is deep yellow with an orange flush while the base of the crown is of similar colour gradually becoming deeper until the rim is quite deep solid red. One of the best of a splendid series of yellow trumpet seedlings which are quite remarkable for clarity of colour and exceptionally fine form and proportion. This is a flower of most delightful clear yellow throughout both trumpet and perianth. Tall strong stem and good neck. £3.50 each. $6.75 each BROOKFIELD (Large-cupped 2c) 2-3 (W. J. Dunlop). A lovely large flower of wonderful thick waxy texture and smoothest quality, bred from Dava x Justice. Broad, flat, pure white petals and well proportioned rather shallow crown which opens cream soon passing to white, one of the most perfectly modelled exhibition flowers in cultivation. 20p each, £1.80 per ten. 50 cents each, $4.50 per ten CASTLECOOLE (Large-cupped 2b) 4 (W. J. Dunlop). A most lovely large flower of unknown pedigree having very large broad flat perianth of somewhat circular outline and silken smoothness. The large rather flat crown is creamy white with a delightful pale wire rim. Grows to an immense size and lasts quite an exceptional time in good condition. Must be in flower for some time before it develops its full size, substance and colour in the rim. A nice Show flower of quite unique colour. BROUGHSHANE (White Trumpet 1c) 3 (Guy L. Wilson). A.M., R.H.S., 1943. A magnificent giant white trumpet of perfect form and balance. The large trumpet being widely flanged reflexed and frilled does not overbalance the immense perianth which is fully 5-1- inches in diameter, the outer segments being up to 2+ inches wide. A flower of immense substance and quite exceptionally durable. J. Dunlop). Bred from Portrush by Foggy Dew this is one of the very finest flowers of its type seen to date. Broad, flat, extremely smooth pure white perianth of perfect quality and nicely proportioned crown with a wire rim of pinky orange. A very fine fully double flower of a most pleasing soft primrose-yellow colour throughout. Strong vigorous grower, free of bloom and increase. A first class exhibition flower of deep clear yellow throughout having broad smooth flat perianth and well proportioned cup slightly shorter than the petals. Very strong plant. £2.25 each. $5.63 each CARGAN (Large-cupped 2a) 4-5 (Guy L. Wilson). A.M., R.H.S. 1950 as a Show flower. F.C.C. Wisley 1952. An extremely beautiful flower of perfect Show form, superb quality and wonderful thick waxy texture having broad smooth flat perianth and nicely proportioned crown which approaches trumpet measurements. The whole flower is of a lovely deep old gold colour throughout. Should prove of much value coming as it does when many yellow varieties are past their best. A first class yellow trumpet of superb quality and thick waxy texture, coming fairly late in the season when many yellow flowers are going over. Broad perfectly smooth perianth standing at right angles to the perfectly proportioned trumpet. A flower of beautiful form and proportion having broad smooth shovel-pointed perianth of wonderful deep aureolin gold and dark clear intense cadmium orange-red crown which the raiser claims to remain quite sunproof. A.M., R.H.S., 1948, as a Show flower, A.M., Wisley Trials, 1952. One of the best of a remarkable series of Cyclamineus hybrids bred from Mitylene x cycla mineus, which represents a wonderful advance in this section. This is a most charming and graceful flower of lovely quality and soft clear yellow colour: broad overlapping much reflexed perianth segments: cup waisted, with frilled and slightly expanded mouth. Wilson). F.C.C., R.H.S., 1949. A very large flower of quite faultless form and quality having very broad circular satin smooth perianth fully 41- inches in diameter and perfectly proportioned shallow fluted saucer crown; absolutely pure white throughout except for a faint touch of green in the eye. This magnificent flower is the finest yellow perianthed small-cupped variety for exhibition yet sent out. A large, tall-stemmed, circular flower, having very broad, smooth, clear golden perianth and intense deep vivid red shallow crown. A wonderful piece of colour. A very large late flowering variety coming when most large flowers are past and just before Corncrake. Very vigorous and free flowering making a splendid garden plant and a delightful flower for cutting for house decoration. DEERFIN (Large-cupped 2b) 3 (W. J. Dunlop). A lovely decorative flower of most unusual colour throughout both perianth and crown opening clear limey lemon but as the flower develops the lemon tone becomes less pronounced and the colour seems to mature and develop a lustre. Beautifully proportioned and rather similar in build to Binkie which was one of its grandparents. Strong vigorous plant, exceptionally free flowering making a delightful garden plant. its quite unique colour makes it ideal for floral decorations. 60p each, £5.40 per ten. $1.50 each, $13.50 per ten COTTERTON (Large-cupped 2c) 3 (Brodie of Brodie). A sturdy rather short DOUBLE EVENT (Double 4) 4-5 (J. L. Richardson). F.C.C., R.H.S. 1956 as a Show flower. One of the very finest doubles introduced to date. A very round flower, the larger segments are pure white and interspersed amongst them in the centre are small segments of soft lemon yellow. A splendid Show flower and fine robust plant with strong tail stems. stemmed neatly built pure ice-white border line flower which is of immense value in breeding whites. One of the largest and finest bicolours I have seen to date having exceptionally large smooth perfectly flat pure white perianth standing at right angles to the beautifully proportioned yellow trumpet. The whole flower is clear mid-yellow throughout. The broad smooth' flat perianth is most lovely clear yellow and the well proportioned cup is deep solid red. Lovely Show flower and should make a first class market and garden variety as it is so vigorous and free flowering. The broad smooth overlapping perianth stands at right angles to the nicely proportioned trumpet and the whole flower is clear yellow throughout. Strong vigorous plant, very free flowering giving an exceptionally high proportion of perfect flowers. A splendid Show flower and will undoubtedly be of much value as a cut flower when stocks permit. A truly majestic flower up to 5 inches in diameter of faultless form, balance and proportion having smooth flat perianth of immense breadth and nicely balanced trumpet. One of the largest and most striking white trumpets seen to date. 75p each. $1.88 each ENNISKILLEN (Small-cupped 3b) 4-5 (W. J. Dunlop). A magnificent smallcupped flower of exceptionally perfect form and quality combined with good size. Broad smooth flat pure white perianth and deep crimson red crown of startling brilliance. A first class Show flower with good stem and neck; comes in splendid form in pots. One of the best red and whites I have seen to date. A lovely flower of faultless form, proportion, texture and quality, milky marble white throughout, with broad smooth ace-of-spades shaped perianth segments and medium sized crown neatly finished with a slight flange.
