ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION Founded in 1973, the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, as a true cultural and social vehicle of Andalusia’s equestrian heritage, assumes and undertakes different kinds of activities. Amongst these are the training of riders and professionals of the equestrian world; the selection of Purebred Spanish Horses for their breeding and conservation as well as the preservation, research and promotion of the equestrian art through its museums and sports competition among others. Although the show “How the Andalusian Horses Dance” may be considered the highest sample of the work done in our Foundation, its raison d’être goes much further since it follows different action lines, basing its activity mainly on its vocation for teaching and its excellence seeking. 2 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION TRAINING 3 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION TRAINING Training professionals in the equestrian world is one of the main objectives of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. Different programmes on the different disciplines and subjects are offered: Dressage and Horsemanship, Carriage Driving, Horse Breeding, etc Training is given by renowned expert riders who may offer tailored courses. TRAINING COURSES The Royal School annually supports educational training programmes for all the equestrian specialities: Horsemanship, Carriage Driving, Saddlery, Stable Hand and Clinical Assistant. TECHNICAL TRAINING COURSES Intensive courses in horsemanship with selected Purebred Spanish Horses are given by internationally renowned expert riders. CUSTOMIZED COURSES Customized courses are offered to cater to your particular needs. 4 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION FACILITIES 5 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION FACILITIES The Royal School has excellent facilities for the celebration of all kinds of events: meetings, congresses, conferences, product presentations, celebrations, official acts, etc. All of them are equipped with the most advanced technology and they are accessible to all. We offer the additional services of bar and shops. CONFERENCES AND CONVENTIONS Fully equipped facilities for the celebration of all types of events: conferences, congresses, presentations, symposiums, etc. They have a capacity for 170 people. BOTANICAL GARDEN Classed as a Garden of Cultural Interest, it is made up of something over 130 specimens representing 35 different species. It is the ideal scenery for the celebration of events. RECREO DE LAS CADENAS PALACE This palace is a beautiful example of the French architecture in the 19th century. The noble rooms of the Palace keep the essence of the old palatial residences and provide a magnificent venue for meetings, receptions and other events. VINERY ROOM 1810 This hall is housed in the Carriage Museum and the building is in fact an old sherry warehouse which was reformed to exhibit part of the collection of carriages and harnesses. It provides the perfect venue when arranging catering for groups, conventions and incentives, as well as for receptions and other events. 6 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION EXHIBITIONS 7 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION EXHIBITIONS Among the different functions that the Royal School fulfills, it is remarkable its role as an international social vehicle of the Andalusian culture and traditions and the important cultural legacy that its exhibition “How the Andalusian Horses dance” represents. The show is an equestrian ballet accompanied by totally Spanish music and 18th Century style costumes, all put together and choreographed using movements based upon Classical Dressage, Doma Vaquera (Country Dressage) and the daily chores of traditional equestrian work. The rider becomes one with the horse when dancing in time to the suggestive music, raising their communication to the level of art. GALAS The Royal School offers the visitor two performances of its exhibition in the indoor arena every week. Each show consists of between six and eight different choreographies based on Classical Dressage, Doma Vaquera, Haute École dressage exercises and Carriage Driving. TOURS AND PRIVATE EXHIBITIONS The School makes promotional tours of its show around Spain and abroad. Private exhibitions can also be arranged on the Foundation premises. INDOOR ARENA With the capacity to seat up to 1.563 spectators, it is the venue for the “How the Andalusian Horses Dance” show and for several past national and international competitions. 8 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION MUSEUMS AND VISITS 9 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION MUSEUMS AND VISITS The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation, as a repository of the Andalusian equestrian heritage, proposes a tour which enables us to experience and understand the art of horsemanship, its study and spread through different resources, inviting the visitor to enjoy this art with all five senses. The Visitor Reception Centre, the Museum of Equestrian Art and the Carriage Museum, the Saddlery, the Tack Room, the Stables, the Indoor Arena and other Training Exercise Rings, the Botanical Garden and the Recreo de las Cadenas Palace are the Foundation facilities that lead us into the essence of the equestrian art. MUSEUM OF EQUESTRIAN ART Equipped with cutting-edge museographic technology, we can learn from the exhibitions gathered in the eleven rooms that compose it about the origins and history of the equestrian art and the horse in Andalusia and in the world, the history of the Royal School, the professions related to the world of the horse, the Haute École dressage exercises and the different equestrian disciplines. It also helps us to better understand the horse as an animal by interpreting its behaviour, habits and attitudes. CARRIAGE MUSEUM The museum is made up of six rooms or singular spaces which take visitors on an active journey through the world of carriage driving, a journey including an excellent collection of carriages and harnesses exhibited using innovative multimedia projections and interactive systems and a visit to the stables and the work areas, what makes this museum unique in its genre. 10 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION OTHER ACTIVITIES 11 ROYAL ANDALUSIAN SCHOOL OF EQUESTRIAN ART FOUNDATION SPORTS COMPETITION Both riders and horses value their knowledge and skills by means of the sports competition. Thanks to the exceptional infrastructure of our Foundation, we offer clinics and all types of training sessions of the disciplines trained in our School: Classical and Country Dressage, Haute École Dressage and Carriage Driving. VETERINARY CLINIC The veterinary clinic has modern, well equipped facilities which are suitable for all types of surgery and equine medical services. Amongst these are an operating theatre, I.C.U. (Intensive Care Unit), a hospitalization room and an image diagnosis room. It has a complete professional team of experienced veterinarians.
