I have seen several Corvettes cruising around town with windows and tops out or down enjoying the cooler evenings. Get your Corvettes out and Let’s Roll. It is almost time for us to start considering our officers for 2007. In 2006 we had several uncontested positions, in fact it was hard to get volunteers to fill our officers positions. So I would like for all of you to start thinking about what you want for improvements from the club in 2007 and who would be your selection to make it happen. TOGCC currently has over 130 members and 100 Corvettes, we have great sponsors in McKaig Chevrolet and Cindy’s Travel Emporium. We need to start planning for 2007. It is important to plan ahead to make it exciting and interesting to be in the club. This is a fun club that has great camaraderie, lets make 2007 as good as 2006 has been. “Let’s Roll” AUGUST TECH DAY It must have been time for a tech day because they were lined up for maintenance. I think we had about ten Corvettes. Club members busted into the oil changes ( I’ll tell you Quick Lube can’t hold a candle to these guys) to get to some drilled rotor change and GM Durra-Stop or Hawk break pads change outs. There have been several members that have gone to drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic break pads. They work great show considerably less break dust than stock ones. Once all that was completed Stephen (SOCKEYE) Lott was ready for some additions to his C4. We moved into installing a shift kit in the valve manifold of the automatic transmission along with a transmission cooler. We have to thank Patrick at Twenty First Century Muscle Car for sharing his knowledge and efficiency in running the Dyno and programming of the four cars that participated in the tuning. Also to John from 21st. for the special pricing deal. Well here’s what we found out; the cars were very close in HP but there were some variances. Most of them were in the fuel mixture throughout the RPM range. The dyno runs were conducted until engine hit the rev limiter or 6200/6300 RPM. The horse power is rated as rear wheel HP. Horse power to the flywheel is generally 50 to 55 HP more. Other changes were 160 degree thermostats, fan settings, 1st to 4th shift eliminated, auto trans shift points and I am sure there were a few I am forgetting. This was a lot of data to remember. This also proved one thing to us, all the after market parts being installed are very minimal if any HP gain. If you want HP you have to move into doing some head work, cam and long tube headers or some type of blower to get the real HP. 6200 RPM 309 HP 323 Torque Page 6 The Monthly Newsletter of the VETTE CHATTER Touch Of Glass Corvette Club After years of research into advanced polymer chemistry, Meguiar’s has created a wax powered by Engineered Synthetic Polymer (ESP) technology. The result, NXT Generation Tech Wax, is the most technologically advanced synthetic protectant for paint available for today’s modern finishes and clear coats. The breakthrough formulation goes on and comes off easy without a powdery residue to visually eliminate fine swirls, protect against UV damage, and leave your finish “amped up” – with a deep, wet-look shine that is unbelievably intense. ESP technology creates a tough polymer bond for xtreme, durable protection. A specially engineered high concentration of ESPs blend with patented antiozonants to clean, condition, and protect all vinyl, rubber, and plastic surfaces in the car interior. The best all-in-one protectant on the market today, NXT Generation Tech Protect delivers protection, durability and shine for car interiors. For best results apply with a High Tech Applicator Pad and remove any excess product with an Ultra Plush Super Terry or Supreme Shine Microfiber. NXT Generation Spray Wax is the fastest way to add gloss and protection with superior polymer technology. Create a deep, dark, wet-look shine with this easy spray-on formulation. For best results during application and removal, we suggest using our Supreme Shine Microfiber or Ultra Plush Super Terry. Maguire's is the only car polish sold at the National Corvette Museum?????
