Population: 2.57 million of inhabitants (January 1st 2013) = 4% of the French population
Area: 39 151 sq km

6 departments – 2 cities with more than 100 000 inhabitants: Tours (135 000 inh. 26th most populated city in
France) & the regional capital Orléans (115 000 inh. 32th most populated city in France). The other main cities are

→ The regional Signature « © du Centre », a development program of regional

Regional Signature's mission is to promote agricultural products, crafts and food, as well
as know-how and employment in the region Centre-Val de Loire, through the local
distribution channel.
In 2015, 123 regional companies made the choice to emphasize their products, their
territory and their knowledge through « © Centre »: 63 producers, 26 artisans, 21
companies from the agro-food industry, 7 cooperatives, 3 interprofessions and 3 restaurants.
