Sister City
The Tyler Davidson fountain, titled “Genius of Water” and located on Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati,
is the centerpiece of the city and exactly 4532 miles from Munich. Designed and fabricated in Munich, it arrived
in 1871 as a gift to the city from Cincinnatian Henry Probasco.
Munich is the sister city of Cincinnati, Ohio where Medpace is headquartered. As
of 2002, Cincinnati has the third-largest German population in the country. The
German roots in Cincinnati have influenced many aspects of the city, including the
May Festival chorus, the architecture, churches, labor unions, politics, food, and –
of course – Oktoberfest. The Cincinnati neighborhood Over-the-Rhine was named
by its original German settlers.
Munich became a Sister City: September 18,1989
Population: 1,259,000
Land Area: 120 miles2
Distance from Fountain Square: 4532 mi
