One does not have to go very far in this community to
find outstanding soloists. We are calling this event “SLO
Stars.” Ever wonder what a cello and a wind orchestra
would sound like? How about a piano and a wind
orchestra or Respighi’s setting of ancient Renaissance
tunes? An Italian composer will feature two of our own
players in a wild clarinet duet with the Wind Orchestra,
and we will close the concert with two movements of
an incredible Russian symphony by Vasily Kalinnikov –
sheer power and excitement!
