Mooroopna Park PS, Party Pies 50c each. inside during wet/colder weather. Write order, name and class on paper bag. Offering children’s activities and a Put correct money in bag. cuppa for adults. Leave at the office before school. A friendly atmosphere where you and your children are welcome. Orders will not be taken over the phone or without money. DIARY AUGUST 17th - Echuca Rd Kinder transition visit 17th - 3/4T GVGS Production RUMBALARA HEALTH CHECKS 18th & 19th - Rumbalara health checks 24th - Alexander St kinder transition visit 25th & 26th - Rumbalara health checks AFTER NEWS FROM ALISHA IN INDIA 26th - Fun Olympics Here are some photos of what Alisha has spent the fundraising money on which we raised last term with the casual clothes/hat day. 30th - Save The Children kinder transition visit A few of the volunteers pooled resources to put towards installing showers in the orphanage for the girls (rather than just running water from the taps). Shown are the before and after photos! They no longer have to squat for a shower! Alisha has also purchased some activities and equipment for the students/girls whilst she's volunteered both at the school and in the orphanage. The girls have few toys in the orphanage so she said it was like Christmas when they saw all the activities etc. They were so happy, appreciative and squealed with excitement as they opened and played with the resources etc. SEPTEMBER 2nd - Father’s Day breakfast & stall 9th - Cluster Fun Run 15th & 16th - Parent/Teacher interviews 16th - Footy Colours Day 16th - Term 3 ends. OCTOBER 3rd - Term 4 starts The Friends of Mooroopna Library cordially invite you to join them at the Annual General Meeting, 9-11 Morrell Street, Mooroopna commencing at 5:30pm on Tuesday 13 September. Our guest Speaker Olwyn, will give a brief overview and stunning film footage of her recent holiday to Antarctica. The meeting will conclude with a light supper. All welcome. Please call 1300 374 765 for catering purposes. PREP TRANSITION FOR 2017 Over the next few weeks, we are having our local Kindergarten students visit us to join in some dance and games. If you have a Prep student for next year or know of any families that are considering enrolling for 2017 please pop into the office for an enrolment pack and a tour of the school if you wish. A reminder that there are no school fees for Prep students. 16th - Echuca Rd Kinder transition visit BEFORE Mr Beaton’s Principal Report - 12th August, 2016 19th to 21st - Gr 3 to 6 camp NOVEMBER 1st - Melbourne Cup Public Holiday Staff from Rumbalara will be coming to our school to provide health checks for students. Forms were sent home this week and need to be returned to school. This will be a great service for our school and we look forward to working with them. If we don’t get the forms returned your child will miss out on this service. SCHOOL CAMP Over the next couple of weeks we will be sending out some more information about our camp to Malmsbury next Term. If you are yet to bring your note back please do so ASAP as we only have room for 50 students. BUILD A BIKE Once again the Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna are working with our Grade 5/6 students to repair old bikes that have been donated to the school. This is a great program where the students learn lots of new skills and get to keep their bikes at the end of the program. FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST AND STALL Our annual Father’s Day Breakfast will be held on Friday, 2nd September from 8am until 9am. This is free and we would love to see the whole family come along for some bacon and eggs, cereal, toast, spaghetti, pancakes, tea, coffee and juice. This will be followed by our Father’s Day stall where students can buy a gift for their Father or someone special. Gifts will range from $1-$5.00 CLUSTER FUN RUN Our annual Fun Run with our local small schools will take place on Friday, 9th September. We run from Chinaman's Garden Mooroopna to Kidstown and Mr Robinson will be sending out the sponsorship forms shortly so students can raise some money for the school and collect some great prizes. PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS Our Parent Teacher Interviews for Term three will be held on the last Thursday and Friday of this Term, the 15th & 16th September. More information will go home towards the end of the Term. Week ending 29th July 2016 BEHAVIOUR TOKEN – YOU CAN DO IT AWARD Prep - Mrs Mahoney Jemma For making an excellent effort to learn to read new words. This week we have started a new behaviour reward system. Every recess and lunch time our School Captains and House Captains will be choosing a student who is modelling the correct behaviour in the yard. Gr 1 - Miss Roscoe Kade For always trying his hardest and doing his best! The sort of things we are rewarding include: Gr 2 - Miss Redfern Skyla For making strong choices all week! Keep it up Skyla. *Sharing *Showing respect 3/4 - Miss Wills Jack For being focussed and persisting with his school work all week. 3/4 - Ms Tilbury Tremelle For his excellent effort with his school work. 5/6 - Miss Redfern Karvyn For doing his best all week. 5/6 - Mr Robinson Simardeep For coming to school each day with a smile on her face and giving 100% Health & PE Mr Bacon Shannon For great participation in PE Creative Arts Mrs Jaap Tiaki Demonstrating great honesty in art. Keep trying Jax. *Being nice to others * Good behaviour *Caring about others *Helping others *Showing responsibility * Resilience *Caring for our school and equipment Captains will be going around the yard talking to students and handing out tokens. Students then place their token in the box in the hallway. There is a box for juniors (grade prep to two), a box for middle years (grades 3 and 4) and a box for seniors (grades 5 and 6). REWARD – Each week at assembly a token will be drawn from each box and that person will win a free lunch order. Berry Street provides a Post Separation Service in Shepparton for separated/divorced parents called the Post Separation Co-Operative Parenting Program. Gr 1 - Miss Roscoe Emma For trying her hardest all the time! Our program is designed to assist parents to separate their conflict from ongoing parental responsibilities and become more attuned and understanding of the relationship between conflict and children’s well-being. Gr 2 - Miss Redfern Bella For being such a brave girl at school. Being a child focused program, we strongly advocate the need and the benefits to children of having both parents actively involved and interested in their life, provided this is a safe option and in the child’s best interests. 3/4 - Miss Wills Xavier For his improved behaviour and beautiful manners. The one-off, 3 hour education seminar is recognised by the Family Law Court and are delivered twice a month including an evening session. 3/4 - Ms Tilbury Summer For trying hard with her reading. 5/6 - Miss Redfern Sam For always reading each night and doing her homework. 5/6 - Mr Robinson Victoria For being a polite and enthusiastic member of the classroom. Health & PE Mr Bacon Jakarna For great participation and enthusiasm. Creative Arts Mrs Jaap Xavier Great positive attitude to Art and Learning. Well done!
