Description:
The AEM-USA was formed to serve as a business platform for Mexican entrepreneurs and professionals
who live and work in the United States. This platform offers support, education, and most of all, a link to
other individuals and organizations who seek to create business relationships with our members.
The AEM-USA has become one of the largest and most important Mexican business organizations
in the world. Our membership expands to the most relevant markets in America, and Mexico. Today,
the great players in the global business community partner with the AEM-USA to grow endless
opportunities in all fields: from oil and energy, to manufacture, services, goods and communications.
Every year the AEM recognizes those individuals who are example of leadership, success and
also contribute to our community.

This year we are proudly honoring three individuals that have made a true difference in Dallas, Fort Worth,
The United States and Mexico. At the same time, they have been true allies to the AEM-DFW mission of
supporting the business community, and open new opportunities for many.

Lifetime Merit Award:
The Lifetime Merit Award is presented to those
individuals that have made great contributions to our
community, and dedicated their lives to make of our
world a better one. From their professional fields:
education, medical, social, political, athletic, business,
etc., our honorees are example of conviction,
leadership, compassion, and achievement.
Gonzálo Venegas, MD was born in Cotija,
Michoacán - México. He graduated from the faculty
of Medicine at UNAM in Mexico City, specializing
in Obstetrics and Gynecology. 1983 he immigrated to
the US, and finished his studies at the University
of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Today, Gonzálo Venegas is the President of
Women's Specialty Center, operating a number of Ob/
Gyn practices in DFW. He is also founding partner of
Clínicas Mi Doctor. In past few years, Dr. Venegas was
elected as Chairman of the Ob/Gyn Department at
he Methodist Medical Center. Most recently, Gonzalo
was elected to the board of Parkland Hospital. He also
serves as the Chairman of the Venegas Medical
Foundation.
Entrepreneur of the Year Award:
The Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizes those
who have excelled in business, not only in making their
companies successful, but in becoming a also a good
neighbor in our community. The AEM-DW celebrates
their outstanding business sense, while applauding
their leadership and philanthropy.
Alfredo Duarte has a true entrepreneurial spirit. From
very humble beginnings, Duarte was able to form and
grow one of the leading produce imports, and product
distribution companies in Texas. TAXCO Produce
distributes nearly 4,000 products in North, Central and
West Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, among other
markets. The company has become an icon and
partner to the Mexican restaurant and food selling
industry.
Duarte's also has an enormous giving heart. He has
joined, worked and helped numerous initiatives to
alleviate those in need. He has tirelessly supported
youth programs for better education and bigger
opportunities for minority children.
Alfredo Duarte deserves all our admiration and respect.
El Amigo de México Award
The AEM-DFW is a great promoter of partnership and friendship. We work everyday to strengthen
relationships, and bring bigger opportunities to everyone. This is why we recognize those individuals who
share these principles, and demonstrate a solid commitment to our organization's philosophy.
"El Amigo de México" honoree will be a company or individual who has maintained a sincere, equitable
relationship with Mexican businesses and Mexican community.
Hunter L. Hunt is the President & CEO of Hunt Consolidated Energy. Graduated summa kum laude from the
Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Hunt obtained his degrees in Economics, and Political Science, with
minors in Mathematics and Business.
Hunter Hunt has an outstanding history in the Hunt Group. He started his leadership career as President of
MeterSmart. In 1990, he joined the Natural Resources Group and moved to their London office. Later on, he
became founding partner of Hunt Power and Sharyland Utilities. Today, Hunter L. Hunt serves in many boards
and participates in a long list of education and cultural initiatives including: SMU Engineering School's
Executive Board, the Dallas County Community College District Foundation, KERA, among others. For the
past few years, Hunt has also participated with a large number of Mexican organizations, including the
Mexico Institute, and has been involved in many programs that strengthen the relationship between these two
countries. Hunt has proven to be a truly friend of Mexico.
