In2012,FHHHcompletedconstructionoftheCarriesCentredeSante..The clinic has 3 fully furnished and equipped examining rooms, a large well‐ stocked pharmacy, waiting room / registration area. We also have a procedure room, which, will be use for minor surgery and as a delivery room.Theclinicalsohasspacereservedforalaboratory.Eventuallyweaim to add dental and ophthalmology suits to offer comprehensive care to the region.FHHHclinicwillbestaffedbyanurseandeventuallybyadoctor. Webelievethatcollaborationwithlikemindedorganizationsenableusto increasetheservicesweareabletoprovidetocommunitiesinneed.We havewelcomedandassistedmultiplemedicalmissiongroupsbyproviding themwithafacilitytoseepatients,informationaboutpreferred medications,andsharingourexperience. FHHH’Smedicalmissiontrip duringthesummerof2012 includedourlargestnumberof volunteerstodatewhosaw patientsatbothsites.5 enthusiastic,hardworking volunteersjoinedourmembers: AlexandraSt.Louis,Nachelle Aurelien,MarieNoelEspositoLang, JamesLang,andMarcEsposito.We conductedmedicalclinicsatthe Kakok/FHHHCliniclocatedin KakokIleAVaches.Withthehelp ofourpermanentHaitibasedstaff headedbyournurseSuzie,wesaw cover100patientsperday.Our groupalsoprovidedcarefor1dayat thepublicclinicontheislandinthe townofMadameBernard.Our volunteersandFHHHmemberswere amazedbythenumberofpatients seekingcareatthatcenteraswellas thediversityofcasesandpathology present.Thehighlightforour volunteerswasourvisitatthel’oeuvre St.FrancoisD’AssisseOrphanagerun byaCanadiannuncalledSisterFlora. Theyenjoyedandwerewarmly welcomedbythechildren.Marcand Jamesstartedasoccergamewithsome oftheboys,whichwasheart warming. Asduringallofourvisitsatthe Dr.EmmanuelStLouis,ViceChairman oftheFamilyPracticeDepartment,Dr PatrickLeblanc,andDrMiriam GermainpediatriciansatTheBrooklyn HospitalCenter,joinedtheirFHHH colleaguesDrs.YolaineStLouis,Lesly Honore,ThierryDuchatellier,and AntonioJosephinaMEETandGREET whichwasheldtorecruitvolunteers andmembersinthefallof2012. Werely100%onourvolunteersand memberstocarryouttheworkwedo orphanage,weexaminedsomeof thechildrenandleftsome medicationsfortheirsmall pharmacy.Weweredelightedto takeourcaretotheinhabitantsof CayaloaverysmallislandoffofIle aVacheswithapopulationof 1,000.Inasmallchurchwesaw childrenandadultswithavariety ofailments.Asduringallofour medicalclinics,wedistributed clothes,toysandtoiletries. thereforerecruitmentisanon‐ goingprocess.FHHHmembers JosianeChiawkosky,Christineand FrantzMevs,KathleenSt.Louis,and FatimaDuchatellierwere responsibleforenrollmentand theirpitchallowedustoaddboth membersandvolunteerstoour rank.
