COMP Cams® – Leading the Way Through Innovation
The story of COMP Cams® is the story of uncompromising dedication to innovation,
R & D and engineering excellence. It’s also the story of the relentless pursuit of
cutting-edge technology, equipment, materials, designs, manufacturing methods,
and excellent customer service. It is a story that began in Memphis, Tennessee with a
group of five people, in a small space with a single mechanical cam grinder in 1975.
Competition Cams® was founded on a dream of producing the best camshafts
available in the marketplace. It began with a vision of being the best. It quickly
became apparent, however, that reaching the pinnacle in the marketplace would
require a much broader vision than originally believed.
COMP recognized and embraced the philosophy that being the best required “outof-the-box thinking.” And that's what became the cornerstone to COMP Cams® vision
for designing and manufacturing the best cams.
To achieve this vision meant rethinking how cams were designed and made, which
also meant a huge dedication to R&D, engineering, new products and new technology. It also meant forming a team comprised of the absolute brightest people in the
world to make the vision come to life, people with the dedication to excellence and
an irrepressible can-do spirit.
Rethinking how cams were being made naturally led to the investigation of making
other valve train parts such as lifters, pushrods and springs. As the process mushroomed, it encompassed every aspect of product design and manufacturing. All of
this meant there had to be new and better ways to design, manufacture and measure valve train products. To meet these challenges it took people, equipment and
partnerships.
To fulfill the vision of being the best, a team of engineers was put into place, which
was quickly followed by new innovations in R&D, manufacturing equipment and manufacturing methods. Among the first innovations at COMP was a spin fixture called a
Spintron® which was the result of collaboration between COMP and the company
building this device. The first of its kind, the Spintron® gave engineers a way to measure the effects of valve train motion on the valve train parts.
This radically new approach to R&D set the stage for further innovations, because
as each part of the valve train was scrutinized, the limitations of each part came into
focus. That fact meant that COMP engineers now had a new way to observe and
evaluate valve train motion, from which new and very non traditional designs have
been developed. This ability cannot be understated, because the ability to see and
understand valve motion and the stresses that are applied to the other parts of the
valve train provided COMP with a unique ability to develop designs and total valve
train packages to meet the ever increasing demands of high performance engines.
To ensure that every design of every valve train part is consistent, COMP has made
enormous investment in high-tech equipment that validates the high tolerance and
design integrity of each and every part made. Machines like COMP’s two Adcole cam
checkers, the most advanced and accurate camshaft measuring equipment available, are but one example of the dedication to leading the industry.
Not only did the technology movement by COMP allow them to see new products
in a new and different light, the continued push for excellence led to discovery and
development of new materials. Here too, as the industry leader, COMP formed partnerships with the best metallurgists in the world. Out of these partnerships has come
the finest and most technologically advanced materials ever used in the making of
the parts necessary to meet the demands of today’s racing engine. These materials
are evident throughout COMP’s product line, including an advanced Tool Steel alloy
used in the NASCAR Nextel Cup cams, any of their complete line of valve springs and
even in the axle in COMP’s re-engineered Endure-X™ roller lifter.
As better products were developed the need for the very best in manufacturing
equipment became a vital link in the process of making the best products. The
2
search for the most technologically advanced equipment has been an ongoing
process for COMP and as in the case of the Spintron®, other partnerships have been
formed to meet the rising demand for the very best valve train products possible.
Among other partnerships is one formed with Okuma, makers of some of the best
CNC grinding, turning, and machining equipment in the world. Through a collaboration of engineers at COMP and Okuma, a new CNC cam grinding machine was
developed that takes camshaft quality to a new level. COMP now has three of these
new machines, and it has once again rewritten the annals of cam grinding.
Fulfilling the COMP vision of being the best is not just about design, cams, parts,
technology, or production equipment; it’s also about having world-class customer
service. As the company has grown COMP’s customer service from the phone
technician to the shipping department, it has set the standard for all companies to
achieve. Not only does COMP offer the best in customer technical service, it is
literally just across the street from the world wide hub of Federal Express. That fact
provides COMP with a unique ability to get products where they need to be in a
streamlined fashion like no other company in the industry.
Today, innovation remains the centerpiece of the COMP Cams® philosophy and
is at the heart of every COMP Performance Group™ company which along with
COMP Cams® includes TCI® Automotive, RHS™, Powerhouse™, ProRacing Sim™,
FAST™, and ZEX™.
At the heart of the vision is one of the original founding members of
COMP Cams®, Vice President of R&D Scooter Brothers who sums up the
COMP story this way:
“From the beginning of our company we have endeavored to be the best, and we
knew at the start we had to have a broad vision in order to become the best. That
meant a huge dedication to new products, R&D, engineering and new technology.”
“We had to find the engineers to help us learn to work outside the box. We
encouraged out of the norm thinking and set out to provide the tools to achieve our
goals, tools like our Spintron®, Adcole, and our leading edge Okuma CNC
Equipment.”
“Today we have a great team of engineers and our dedication to out-of-the-box
thinking is real. We work with every professional community to find new technologies
so we can continue to be the best. For example, we currently work with universities
to discover what will be the next tools to aid us in looking at valve train motion.
COMP’s goal is to be able to look at valve motion in a real live engine on a race
track. This is a sample of what we mean as out of the box thinking.”
“At COMP we race companies. One of the biggest challenges and one of the
main things that makes COMP different from other companies is that every single
member of the COMP team wants to win the race. They are each and every one
dedicated to doing their best and doing the best for the customer. With that level of
commitment more good players want to join the COMP team, and with all the best
players and all the best technology you can win every game and every race.”
“One of the advantages we have is our location. We are not influenced by any
group of others who are sometimes too much in the forest and cannot see the trees.
We have the advantage of looking at things from a fresh point of view and often we
see a new path that others cannot. This has enabled us over the years to work in
what we consider to be a non conventional R&D situation. That is what allows COMP
to do the impossible and make it work.”
“We encourage that kind of thinking and we also don’t limit ourselves to just our
staff of professionals here at COMP. We actively seek collaboration and partnerships
with the other engineers, product specialists and metallurgist around the world. As
long as we can involve the best minds we will create the best products.”
“It is our broad view of being the best that helped us begin COMP and it is that
same view of innovation that will lead us into the next level of being the best.”

Valve Springs
growing by leaps and bounds right now, and COMP’s engineers are on the forefront
of this technology. Under the high powered electron microscope, fissures (sometimes called inclusions or contamination, usually caused by some of the firebrick
from the melting process) sometime occur within the metal. This is typically the
weakest link in valve spring construction and is the most common cause of premature spring failure. These fissures appear to be the size of the Grand Canyon under
the Scanning Electron Microscope, but in fact, they are only microns wide.
Diminishing the occurrence of any contamination inside the wire is one of the key
features COMP Cams® looks for when selecting valve spring steel. The metallurgists
at COMP Cams® scrutinize every inch of wire utilized in the creation of their high performance valve springs.
From the time that our valve spring wire is formulated to the time you open the
spring box, no detail is overlooked in providing you with the highest quality product
available anywhere. The valve spring design and manufacturing process are far
more involved that, even most engine builders realize. Selecting the optimum alloy,
design, and manufacturing tolerances ensure the best valve spring is not an accident. COMP Cams® has developed a process that creates the highest quality, high
performance valve springs attainable today. This mandates high-quality steel alloy is
selected and each step of the valve spring development is scrutinized. The result is a
product that will complement any engine builder’s best engine and perform as needed in the most demanding environments.
COMP has many springs that appear to be almost identical in loads, heights and
diameters. Even some of the best valve springs do not perform optimally if the
design of the spring does not match the rest of the components and the way the
engine is run. COMP has many varieties of springs, and it is just as important to
make the correct choice of design as of material and processing. Make sure to
match the application to the spring for best results.
Valve Springs
COMP Cams® leads the industry in development and design of high performance
valve springs. As a result, they have committed enormous resources to the development of new valve spring designs, new materials and new processing technologies.
Following the intense analytical process of valve spring design and material selection,
COMP Cams® springs are manufactured to the most demanding requirements in the
industry.
As with any high-quality product, manufacturers are limited by the weakest link
rule; your product is only as good as its weakest feature. That’s why there is a constant effort to search out the finest materials available. Metallurgical technology is

Valve Springs
Beehive™ Valve Springs
■ Ovate wire - More mass on inside of wire
■ Beehive™ design minimizes the mass in the most active coils of the spring
■ Because coils are different diameters a wider range of frequency is dampened
COMP Cams® revolutionary new Beehive™ Valve Springs feature the most innovative
spring technology available. Wound from Super Clean™ ovate wire into the unique beehive
shape, they deliver increased valve train stability for more usable engine rpm and better control
of the valve with reduced spring pressure, giving you the best of both worlds. This spring
technology is not for high-end all out racing, but for street and mild performance there is nothing
better. Most of these combinations offer simple and convenient drop-in installation at a price
that is very affordable.
Ovate wire is used because the highest concentration of stress occurs at the inside of the
coil on the surface of the wire. With the ovate shape there is more material on that surface,
thereby allowing the spring to be designed with optimum load concentrations for better fatigue
life. There is very little stress on the outside of the coil on the surface of the wire, so there is no
need for high surface area. This reduces the overall mass of the spring, which improves the
dynamic stability of the entire valve train.
The beehive shape of this spring greatly reduces the diameter of the spring at the retainer.
This minimizes the mass of the most active coils, and combined with a retainer that weighs
about half as much, the effective mass of the spring assembly is greatly reduced. The progressive coil diameters result in a spring with a different frequency at each coil. COMP’s Beehive™
spring technology will, without question stabilize a street and mild performance valve train
beyond anything else available. This results in real measurable horsepower.
Description / Part No. 26915 Designed for LS1, LS2, and LS6 engines when a
mild improvement over stock is desired. There is very little difference in load
from the stock spring, but the performance will be improved.
Description / Part No. 26918 Designed for LS1, LS2, and LS6 engines when a
performance cam is used. This spring, when combined with the appropriate
titanium retainer, will outperform almost every spring package in the Gen III
engine. This spring is designed for a maximum of .600” lift at the valve, so it
is the most ideal spring for most street and mild race applications.
Description / Part No. 26120 Designed for hydraulic, flat tappet and
hydraulic roller applications, it works well in a variety of applications
requiring 1.445” springs. This spring was designed to be used on Big Block
Chevrolet engines with a hydraulic roller cam. This spring package breaks
through the rpm limit of around 5,500 that is common in most of the Big
Block engines. It also works well in many Ford and Chrysler applications.
Description / Part No. 26113 Designed for Ford 4.6L 2 and 3 valve head
engines with .550” lift in model years 1994 and up. This spring is a drop in
replacement for the stock spring and is necessary when changing cams to
higher lift designs. The extra spring loads will allow higher engine speeds
and more horsepower.
Description / Part No. 26123 Designed for Ford 4.6L 4 valve head engines with
up to .500” lift. No machining is required to the cylinder head when installing
this spring. The stock springs will accept almost no increase in valve lift, so
when changing cams to higher lift designs it is necessary to use this spring
package.
Description / Part No. 26924 Designed for Big Block Ford, Chevrolet and
Chrysler performance hydraulic, flat tappet or hydraulic roller cams with
.650” max lift. This spring is a direct drop-in for these engines, especially the
Chrysler and Ford engines that have a step in the head that must be
removed for a conventional double spring. The package also works well in
Small Block applications when the spring pockets have been enlarged.
Check out www.compcams.com/beehive for high speed
video footage of Beehive™ valve springs in action!
Description / Part No. 26981 Designed for stock diameter Small Block
Chevrolet hydraulic, flat tappet or hydraulic roller cams with modest lift
up to .525”. This is a direct replacement for the old venerable 1.250”
diameter 981 spring. It is designed to drop in a stock GM Small Block
head with around 1.700” installed height and no machine work. The
lower mass and higher frequency of the spring will outperform the
standard 981.
Description / Part No. 26986 Designed for Small Block Chevrolet, Ford and
Chrysler hydraulic, flat tappet, or hydraulic roller cams with a lift of up to
.575” This spring is designed to be installed at a typical height of 1.800” and
will have around 110 lbs of load at that height. It will directly replace the 984
spring that is common in many applications where the spring pocket has
been machined to a larger diameter.
Description / Part No. 26995 Designed for Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Small Block
Chrysler hydraulic, flat tappet, and hydraulic roller cams with shorter install
height with up .600” lift. This spring is designed to be used when the installed
height is around 1.700” and the seat load needed is about 135 lbs. Many of
these engines have very short valves and require a spring with this setup,
and this spring works well in those applications.
Description / Part No. 26055 Designed for high lift flat tappet and hydraulic
roller cams up to .650” lift. These springs have broad applications including
high performance street and oval track applications. This spring sets up at
1.900” installed height with a seat load of about 160 lbs. It is 1.585” OD. Most
heads will require spring pocket modification to use this spring.
Description / Part No. 26095 Designed for high lift flat tappet and hydraulic
roller cams with up to .750” lift. These springs have broad usage, including
high performance street, oval track and Harley Davidson applications. The
package sets up at 2” installed height and will have about 150 lbs of seat
load at that height. The spring is 1.590” OD. Most heads will require spring
pocket modification to use this spring.

Lifters
Most significant among the upgrades is the addition of EDM Oil Injection™
technology, which ensures the bearing assembly receives a constant flow of pressurized oil. Unlike other lifters that offer pressurized oiling only as an upgrade, EDM
Oil Injection™ technology is standard in every Endure-X™ Solid Roller Lifter. This
virtually eliminates needle bearing oil starvation, historically a “problem area” for
solid roller lifters when used in low rpm and street applications. To further
strengthen the bearing assembly, the Endure-X™ Solid Roller Lifters also include
needle rollers that are precision sorted by size, evenly distributing loads to avoid
premature wear and failure.
In addition to the new upgrades, all Endure-X™ Solid Roller Lifters still contain the
features that make them the “preferred choice” among performance engine builders.
Every lifter is fully heat-treated, machined to ultra-high tolerances and fully rebuildable.
The COMP Cams® patented link bar assembly blends all the advantages of a removable link bar with the safety of a captured link bar. COMP Cams® Endure-X™ Solid
Roller Lifters are available for a variety of applications, including small base circle and
offset applications.
Every COMP Cams® lifter is designed for maximum performance for its
application. High-performance lifters meet stringent and exacting standards of
quality, efficiency and longevity. No other company has dedicated more resources
in the development of the absolute finest and most durable lifters in the
marketplace than COMP Cams®.

Oil Injection™ Solid Mechanical Lifters
With the increased rpm, additional spring pressure and aggressive cam
designs of today’s performance engines, premature cam wear is a major problem.
COMP Cams® has answered the challenge with the new #817 (.841” diameter)
and #800 (.841” diameter) solid lifters that feature a precision 0.012” oil feed hole
in the cam face. The added oiling capacity creates a boundary layer that protects
both the lifter and cam lobe from excessive wear. Identical to COMP Cams® industry standard #833 lifter, but with an enhanced pressure fed oiling feature, the new
#800 and #817 retain the proven reliability of the standard lifter.

Lifters
COMP Cams® VR Roller Lifter
COMP’s new VR roller lifter is the ultimate roller lifter available today. The COMP engineers
collaborated with the best metallurgists and bearing people in the world to develop this part
and have accepted no compromises in its superior design. The lifter features the common
“Keyed” design, making if fully interchangeable with most lifters currently used in the high end
oval track and drag racing applications.
The VR lifter is .937” in diameter and features a roller wheel with a diameter of .840”. That
allows engine builders and cam designers to take full advantage of designs and achieve the
additional horsepower necessary in today’s competitive racing arena. The bearing area is
where most of the design work was focused. The needles are longer and more precisely sorted, so that the extreme loads are evenly spread through a greater surface. The axle is an exotic tool steel, which prevents early wear and greatly increases the life of the lifter. The bearing is
oiled utilizing a dedicated oil passage to directly infuse oil to the bearing.
Every single feature of COMP’s VR lifter has been re-engineered to ensure maximum life
and maximum performance. This includes the metallurgical design of all the components, as
well as the tolerances of each of the parts of the lifter. Not one single part of this lifter has been
compromised due to difficulty or cost.
These features make the VR lifter the most durable and reliable part on the market. When
quality is more important than price, COMP’s VR lifter is the only choice. There is no better part
for the application in the world.
For further details of this revolutionary part call COMP Cams® at 800-999-0853.
Johnson-Style Lifters
For years, Johnson-style lifters set the standard for solid flat tappets. To assure
that these lifters remained available, COMP Cams® saved these widely accepted
and widely used lifters from extinction with the purchase of the early castings so
that production of these lifters would continue. Now the same high-quality lifters
are once again available for your engine.
Built to precision tolerances to create an extremely durable product, the new
Johnson-style lifters utilize a universal oil metering band location that allows
two part numbers to cover a variety of engine applications. In addition, these
lifters feature a precision-ground crown on the lifter face to ensure proper
break-in and long life.

PROFESSIONAL ENGINE BUILDER Catalog 2006
Valve Spring Retainers
In the competitive world of high performance engine building, valve spring
retainers are often overlooked, but COMP Cams® has not forgotten the important high performance role these components play in the creation of high
revving engines. In response to customer demand, COMP Cams® has developed new steel and titanium retainer applications for a wide variety of late
model engines.
Like all COMP Cams® products, the ultimate in retainers is guaranteed as
a result of COMP Cams® stringent quality control and exacting in-house manufacturing process that ensures the ultimate in quality.
Steel Valve Spring Retainers
New valve springs with larger diameters require new retainers to handle the
higher pressures developed by the springs. COMP Cams® steel retainers are the
solution. Our steel retainers are precision machined from 4140 chromemoly and
finished in black oxide. They are specifically designed for positive location when
combined with COMP Cams® high-quality valve springs. For superior strength
and ultimate stability, we offer retainers and valve locks.

Titanium Valve Spring Retainers
When you upgrade from steel to titanium valve spring retainers, you
gain speed and power, because COMP Cams® titanium is lighter and
stronger than steel. Additionally, our Super Lock™ titanium design gives
you confidence; no longer will you be preoccupied with splitting a retainer and tearing up an engine when turning 10,000 rpm.
COMP Cams® titanium retainers are American made from the finest
6AL4V alloy for maximum stiffness and minimal warpage. The 6AL4V
alloy is heat-treated and processed to a stringent tolerance; it has to be
since it is used on the U.S. Air Force F-117 Stealth Fighter. Other manufacturers purchase titanium from metals brokers and produce “cheap”
retainers, but COMP Cams® titanium retainers will not deform. From a
standing idle to the most extreme rpm, our titanium retainers perform
flawlessly, without compromise.

Valve Locks, Lash Caps
Honda B & D Series Valve Locks
COMP Cams® new high-strength locks are a direct replacement for OEM
valve locks and were specifically designed for standard Honda 5.5mm valves.
These 7-degree locks are precision-built to exacting tolerances of ± 1/6-degree,
far superior to factory tolerances. Made from premium “fatigue resistant” steel,
COMP’s Honda B & D Series valve locks are ideal for engines with high
performance modifications, including high-lift camshafts and/or increased
rate valve springs.
NOTE: For your convenience, steel valve locks are offered in bulk packs of 100 at discounted
pricing. This program provides a handy way for you to maintain a stock of frequently used highquality engine parts from COMP Cams®, thus avoiding repetitious reorder and engine assembly
interruptions. For complete details contact COMP Cams® at 1-800-999-0853.
Valve Lash Caps
Because today’s racing engines run at higher and higher rpm levels and the
cam profiles are extremely harsh, the tip of the valve stem is subject to a tremendous amount of pounding. These engines are always run just on the brink of valve
float – one of the most severe conditions that can exist. The best solution to this
problem is the COMP Cams® lash cap. These lash caps are precision machined
and ground perfectly flat to maintain accuracy of valve train adjustment. They fit
the valve stems well and can be removed with relative ease because of a tiny hole
to relieve the suction created when removing the lash cap. The Chrysler Hemi
engine has benefited greatly from this design. A special version is available to
accommodate the very short tip on these valves. For the ultimate in strength and
reliability, you will not find a better part than the COMP Cams® lash cap.

Spring Locators, Shims
Valve Spring Locators
As with all other parts in the valve train, the area where the spring sits also
takes a beating. The old standard shims simply will not hold up to the extreme
spring pressures and high rpms found in racing engines being built today. COMP
Cams® offers a simple but effective solution to this problem; a thin hardened
steel alloy seat, which will not only protect the head and shim, but also locate
and hold the spring in place. Previously, this part has been available only in a cup
form with the retaining portion being on the outside. This required that the head
be machined a great deal to accept the cup. A new cup with the locating shoulder on the inside is now available.

Big Block Chevrolet Seat Spacers
Late model Big Block Chevrolet engines are originally equipped with
exhaust valve rotators. Until now the only way to make up for the rotator
was to stack .300” of shims under the spring. This was not only sloppy,
but also did not fit as well as this new part. This will locate the spring with
an outside step so the spring cannot “walk” around on the head.

COMP Cams® offers a complete line of valve stem seals, from the stock GM O-ring to the positive-stop Teflon seal. These seals are a must to keep unwanted
oil from entering the combustion chamber through the clearance in the valve guides. The O-ring seals use the standard retainer and oil splash shield. The umbrella
seal is normally used when a larger-than-stock diameter spring is used. In the case of a double spring, the positive-stop Teflon seal is used. We also have a smaller diameter Viton seal available for triple spring applications. Both the O-ring and the umbrella seals require no machining, but with the Teflon seal it is necessary
to disassemble the heads and machine the top of the guide with a special .530” diameter cutter, which is offered by COMP Cams®.

The one piece design from seamless chromemoly tubing ensures the
ultimate in strength. The ends are precision formed, yielding added thickness in the critical tip area for strength, while maintaining constant wall
thickness and concentricity.
The pushrods are then heat-treated to ensure compatibility with guide
plates and for maximum strength. They are O.D. ground for consistency
and black oxide finished with a length and part number laser etched on the
O.D. for ease of identification.
Hi-Tech™ – 3/8” One Piece .065” Wall
Hi-Tech™ pushrods with 3/8” diameter and a .065” wall thickness are made of high quality 4130 chromemoly steel and heat-treated to a minimum hardness of
60 on the Rockwell “C” scale.
The use of Finite Element Analysis has helped us design this pushrod for superior performance and endurance. Applications include engines employing mid-range
spring pressures and engine speeds well in excess of 9000 rpm. Because of their increase in natural frequency, these pushrods help tune the valve train when
subjecting the valve train to its maximum speed. Spintron® tests show that these pushrods help control valve motion, resulting in capturing lost horsepower due to
valve bounce. They are specifically designed for high performance applications and are available in lengths from 8.150” to 9.250”.

Pushrods
Hi-Tech™ One Piece Pushrods
COMP Cams® engineers have found that the pushrod is one of the
most important members of the valve train and certainly the most taken for
granted. Prior to extensive research at COMP Cams®, it was thought that
the pushrod only had to be strong enough not to fail, bend or burn up at the
ends. Now our engineers have learned that the frequency of the pushrod
must match that of all the rest of the parts in the valve train, as well as the
rpm at which the engine will be run. Today’s all out unlimited race engines
deserve the ultimate in quality at every step, and COMP Cams® Hi-Tech™
pushrods fill that requirement.

Hi-Tech™ Straight Tube 7/16 One Piece .125” Wall
These pushrods use an ultra-rigid, large diameter design and high-strength material to help your engine avoid the harmful valve train vibrations that occur
when smaller diameter pushrods “snap-back” into position. Beginning with closely monitored high-quality premium steel alloy, COMP Cams® engineers
designed a 210° tip that provides a greater load bearing surface area to withstand increased camshaft lift, and they are available in lengths from 8.100” to
9.850” in .050” increments.

valve than most aluminum rockers. This means more rpm and valve
train stability.
The unique design of the Pro Magnum Rocker™ enables us to use a
larger trunion with more needle bearings. This spreads the load more
evenly and the rocker will last longer. Other features include an integral
pushrod seat that ensures accuracy and saves weight, a unique rocker
design also provides plenty of clearance for most high performance
valve springs. These rockers are ideally suited for serious street, bracket racing, super classes, and circle track racing.
Lifetime Guarantee! Pro Magnum Rocker Arms™ are so strong that
we guarantee the rocker bodies for life against breakage.

Pro Magnum Roller Rockers™
Before we introduced our revolutionary Pro Magnum Rocker Arms™
there were only two alternatives in competition rocker arms: Stainless
Steel for strength and reliability or Aluminum for lightweight and low
cost. With the Pro Magnum Rockers™ you get the best of both worlds.
Pro Magnum Rockers™ are made of 8650 chromemoly steel. This
material is some three times stronger than 7075-T6 aluminum which is
used for most aluminum rocker arms.
Our engineers used advanced computer technology (including Finite
Element Analysis) to refine the Pro Magnum Rocker™. We added
strength where it was needed and reduced mass in low stress areas.
The result: Pro Magnum Roller Rockers™ have less weight (5%) at the

Rocker Arms
Hi-Tech™ Stainless
Hi-Tech™ Stainless Steel Rockers are the toughest rockers in racing. That’s why
they’re the choice of professional racers. We use 15-5 PH stainless steel-a premium
alloy that’s high in Nickel and Chromium. This superior material gives Hi-Tech™
rockers outstanding yield strength and exceptional fatigue resistance. Our stainless
rocker arms are extra rigid (tested at 52,000 pounds/inch) to resist power-robbing
deflection.
Hi-Tech™ rockers are engineered to minimize reciprocating weight-that means
more rpm and longer valve train life.
They’re designed for race-winning durability, too. Our engineers specified extra
large trunions and more needle bearings to spread out the load and reduce wear.
Hi-Tech ™ Stainless Steel Rockers are available in ratios to suit every camshaft profile. Our stainless rockers are rebuildable, too. They’re an investment that pays big
dividends in performance and dependability.

Air/Fuel Meter
Measure your engine’s air/fuel ratio with two sensors, not one with
the new and revolutionary first two-sensor, wide-band air/fuel meter. The
FAST™ Air/Fuel Meter uses a sensor in both of your engine’s exhaust outlets (not just one sensor like competitive air/fuel meters) to get the full
story on the state of your engine’s tune. With the meter, you can read
both exhaust sensors individually or average them together for super
accurate readings of the engine’s true air/fuel ratio. For racers on a budget, a single sensor version is available that can later be upgraded to the
two-sensor technology.
Easy to use, the meter includes a simple, built-in data-logger that
doesn’t require you to download to a laptop. It simply plays back your
information on the unit’s display screen in real-time. Advanced features
include outputs for external data-loggers and digital gauges, as well as a
narrow-band simulator function that allows you to feed your engine’s
computer a factory signal while using the wide-band sensor for air/fuel
measurement.

16” Pro Degree Wheel
This serious piece of equipment is designed for the shop that doesn’t
mess around. Our monstrous 16" Pro Degree Wheel is machined from
1/4" thick aluminum plate, then blue anodized and meticulously engraved
to perfection. The open design allows degree bushing changes while the
wheel is still on the engine. The 1" center hole allows it to work with our
pro crank sockets or use the included reducer bushings along with your
balancer bolt.
Advance Master Timing Light
When accurate timing is a matter of life or death for your race engine,
then the Powerhouse® Advance Master Timing Light is the right choice. In
serious racing applications, such as Nextel Cup, a 1/2-degree in
ignition timing can mean the difference between engine failure and winning the race. And in drag racing engines, improper timing can lead to
sluggish reaction times and harmful engine detonation. That’s why
Powerhouse® Products has developed the Advance Master Timing Light
for performance applications, that produces precision timing accuracy
within a 1/2-degree. This precision unit incorporates a cutting-edge laser
pointer instead of old antiquated timing light technology and a precision
“repeating strobe” light that mounts directly to your engine block. In addition, the Advance Master features a large face digital pad which allows
the driver to read the timing while sitting in the car, or it can be mounted
under the hood for quick checks.

Pro Crankshaft Turning Sockets
When slipped on the end of a crankshaft, these specially designed sockets let you use a 1/2" drive ratchet or
breaker bar to rotate the engine assembly. Our sockets also have the unique feature of a provision to hold our degree
wheels or any wheel with a 1" or larger center hole. The knurled retaining nut actually sandwiches the degree wheel and
holds it in place. This can then be loosened while on the crank snout so that you can turn the degree wheel independent
of the engine, which is really handy when finding TDC.

Pro Pushrod Length Checker
Because they’re designed like a micrometer, you
insert our Pro Pushrod Length Checker in place of a
pushrod and unscrew it until the correct length and
geometry are achieved. You then read the height right
from the etched markings on the side of the tool, with each revolution
equal to .050". This tool makes it less expensive and much faster than
any other method used for this critical calculation.

Leakdown Tester
Racers prefer the dual gauge design of our
Leakdown Tester to check for problems with piston
rings, valves, head gaskets, etc. The left hand gauge
shows incoming air pressure, while the right hand
gauge (once plugged into the cylinder being checked) shows how much air
the cylinder is holding. The difference between the two gauges is your leakdown. A universal 14mm spark plug adapter, high-quality regulator and
complete instructions are all standard with our precision Leakdown Tester.
Adjustable Valve Spring Remover
Made from billet aluminum, this spring compressor is fully adjustable for different valve angles.
Its heavy-duty construction allows it to be used on
even the heaviest of spring pressures. The screw
mechanism maintains its position to easily remove
or install the valve locks without fighting against
the spring pressure.
Description
Pro Valve Lapping Tool
Tired of the prehistoric valve lapping ritual? There is finally
an answer to your prayers. This patented valve lapping tool
uses a vacuum generating piston to create a suction that will
not slip off the valve. It includes three interchangeable suction
cups, which allows use on virtually any valve size. It also features a non-slip, foam rubber grip that improves grip and
comfort over the traditional "wooden stick" designs. The tool
is made from machined aluminum, which will provide
durability and value for years to come.
