Bob Turner, President of Sales; Mario San Román, CEO of Azteca and Martin Breidsprecher, CEO of Azteca America
Once again in New York City, this year’s upfront event was keeping with a more pinpointed strategy for
the marketing of the network for the 2013-2014 season.
Bob Turner, President of Sales, hosted the event together with Azteca America CEO Martin Breidsprecher
and Azteca CEO Mario San Román.
“This has been one of our most successful upfront events to date,” said Martin. “We have an exciting
lineup and new additions to our team that are expected to bring strong results.”
Bob expects to make about 125 one-on-one meetings with clients and agencies through the fall. The
network expects to increase the number of infront visits by about 20% from the visits that were made
last year.
“We think that our Infront/Upfront formula provides the best of both worlds for clients, “ he said. “The
infronts allow us to share the details, especially multiplatform and product integration options, that
clients are demanding. And there’s nothing like a celebration in New York.”
The programming presented includes more local shows, specifically the morning programs Coffee Break
and Entre Nos, as well as a strong reality show lineup, including the return of musical reality hit La
Academia and Survivor-style La Isla, as well as new formats that feature dancing throughout the country.
Also expect more novelas and extended new coverage that includes hourly news briefs in a lead up to
our network news Noticiero Azteca.

Looking Ahead to 2013-2014
As we move into the 2013-2014 season, which is highlighted by an intense schedule of infront
presentations and an upfront celebration in NY, now is an impor tant moment to reflect on the
development of our network with activities that go beyond our business.
We’re strengthening our positioning as a responsible corporate citizen in the communities where
we operate. Recent and coming events include the Ronald McDonald Walk in Los Angeles, the El
Paso Run/ Walk for Autism and a series of immigration forums in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston and
Chicago, to name a few.
Being an active par ticipant of the communities where we operate is a fundamental value of Azteca
America.
We look forward to sharing continued successes at Azteca America.

“Issues: Caras y Voces” Returns With a
Focus on Immigration Reform
“Issues: Caras y Voces,” a special weekly news segment hosted by
veteran Washington correspondent Armando Guzmán, is back on
air during the Friday broadcasts of the Noticiero Azteca America
national newscast. The segment focuses on the issue of immigration
reform and the people behind it.
“Azteca America has been an instrumental voice of representation
for the Latino community in Washington and we’re delighted
to announce the relaunch of this influential segment,” said Luis
J. Echarte, Chairman of Azteca America. “We’re at a historical
moment in the immigration debate and we have to make sure
that viewers are informed of what policy makers are putting on
the table.”
Beginning March 15 at 5 pm/ 4pm CST, the first segment
highlighted the participation of Congressman Luis Gutierrez (DIL) and his campaign for immigrant issues to be included in
the reforms. Congressman Gutierrez has long been one of
the most outspoken voices for Latino rights in Congress
and a firm believer in very progressive immigration reform.
Armando Guzman has interviewed numerous US
presidents and vice presidents, as well as world figures
such as Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin, Lech Walesa,
Nelson Mandela, Yasser Arafat, Margaret Thatcher,
Tony Blair and countless Latin American presidents.
As a war correspondent, he was the first Latino
journalist to ever broadcast from the USS Air Carrier
Theodore Roosevelt during the 2001 US invasion of
Afghanistan.
He has been recognized by numerous organizations
for his journalistic contributions, including the Edward
R. Murrow award in 1996 and the “Premio Nacional
de Periodismo,” Mexico’s National Journalism Award,
for his coverage of the September 11 attacks.
