RIDING MATBUS
the basics
When you see a MATBUS vehicle coming
towards you, try to stand near the
corner of the intersection and be sure
to wave at the bus driver so that he or
she knows you want to board the vehicle.
Paying for your trips on MATBUS is very
convenient. You can pay cash for your ride
when you board the bus ($1.25 for adults or
$0.60 for youth, elderly & disabled). Also, you
can purchase 30-day unlimited ride passes
or 10-ride cards at the Ground
Transportation
Center
(GTC),
our
downtown transit center at 502 NP
Avenue North in Fargo. The GTC is the
main hub for our transit operations.
If your desired final destination is not found
on Route 23, you will need to transfer to
another bus. With MATBUS, all transfers
are free; just tell the bus driver which bus
you need to transfer to and he or she
will give you a free transfer card for the
next bus. Aren’t sure which bus you will
need to transfer to? Ask the bus driver!
When you are ready to get off the
bus, pull the bell cord located near the
windows of the vehicle about one
block before you want to de-board.

Route 23 travels to the West Acres
transit hub, where you can transfer
directly to get to Downtown Fargo
(Rt. 16), West Fargo (Rt. 22) or the
13th Avenue Walmart (Rt. 15).
Transfers are free on all
25 MATBUS routes.
Residents living in the Osgood and
Woodhaven neighborhoods now
have the opportunity to arrive in
Downtown Fargo by 8:00 a.m. via transit.
Front-door service to residential,
commercial, retail and schools
are all found on one route!
Extended hours allows those working
evening & overnight shifts to use transit.
Riding MATBUS is affordable, good for
the environment and eliminates the
stress of traffic and parking.
Bike racks are available on all MATBUS
vehicles. Ride your bike to the bus stop and
take it with you for a ride on MATBUS. A
free permit is needed - stop by the GTC.
