Baja Region in Costa Smeralda
Costa Smeralda also known as the ‘Emerald Coast’ is not only celebrated as the
playground for the rich and famous but also for its unrivalled beaches and
secluded coves. Sardinia’s northern Costa Smeralda is 55km long and features
80 bays with pinkish white swimming beaches.
Centred around the famous Porto Cervo, this itinerary takes you to secluded
beaches, out on a luxury boat and on the unique Fashion Wine Walk during the
Sardinia Wine Festival.
With back to back bays, the beaches cater for all - perfect waves and wind
for the more adventurous wanting to try wind surfing, kite surfing, or the
new craze of flyboarding, along with beautiful secluded coves and reefs or
private beach clubs for those just looking for some relaxation time.
Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu
*****
The Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu is a five star luxury hotel which is part
of the prestigious brand “Small Luxury Hotels of the World”. An oasis
of peace and tranquility that consists of 146 bedrooms and 67
comfortable apartments, elegantly furnished with a touch of Sardinian
ambience. Located on Sardinia's Emerald Coast, is hidden away in
an almost secret location, just a mile from Porto Cervo enjoying
enchanting views of little white buildings embellished with lush
Mediterranean vegetation and facing the crystalline La Maddalena
Archipelago.
Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu is designed to resemble a typical Sardinian
village with attractive arches throughout that make the property look
as though it is hewn out of the rugged coastal rocks.
Sail the breathtakingly beautiful Archipelago La
Maddalena.
Uninhabited islands, pristine beaches and crystal clear water, all experienced from the comfort of
our private yacht. We’ll set sail for a day cruising the pristine, marine protected waters of the
Archipelago La Maddalena.
After casting off from the port of Palau, we’ll sail along the coast to Spargi Island, stopping to marvel
at the beautiful coves and wind sculptured rocks before continuing on our way to see the highly
protected Spiaggia Rosa, or ‘Pink Beach’ at Budelli Island.
Our second stop will be the most famous lagoon of the archipelago, Porto Della Madonna, also
known as the swimming pools! From here we can swim in the clear blue waters or relax aboard the
yacht and enjoy the scenery before lunch is served.
After lunch we’ll set sail again for the Island of Cala Santa Maria before returning to port in the early
evening and recounting the day’s adventures over dinner.
Sardinia Wine Festival
Dates TBC May 2016
Porto Cervo Wine Festival is an important rendezvous for a limited
number of Sardinian and Italian wine producers, enthusiasts,
consumers and wine lovers, taking place on the Costa Smeralda. Held
at the beginning of the season, before the hoards of tourists arrive It
offers a chance to experience an unprecedented atmosphere of peace and relaxation, combined
with the glamour that for more than 50 years has characterized this Mediterranean destination.
On the Saturday, the port hosts a “fashion wine walk”, with tastings taking place in Porto Cervo’s
high end boutiques. An unmissable opportunity for lovers of fashion and wine to meet sommeliers
and wine experts while taking in collections by the world’s most celebrated stylists.
