Operations
Norm Hauser
•
Interim President, Metro Ports. Hauser began his maritime career in 1982 as a San Francisco superintendent at California
Stevedore and Ballast (CS&B), the original parent corporation of Metropolitan Stevedore Co. He continued to work for
the company through its subsequent 1990 formation of a joint venture with Metro called Metropolitan California
Stevedore Co. In 1994, CS&B ceased operating, leading Hauser to start a safety consulting business, which in turn led to
a position at the PMA (Pacific Maritime Association) in its training and accident prevention department. In 1997, he
came to Metropolitan Stevedore Co. in Southern California, where he served in management and executive positions
until his retirement in August 2010 as chief operating officer of Nautilus.
Rob Waterman
•
Vice President, Operations. Rob joined Metro in 1986 as a superintendent. Throughout his tenure with Metro, Rob has
gained invaluable skills in handling a variety of bulk commodities along the U.S. West Coast. Rob has a B.S. in Business
Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.
Jaimie Wightman
•
Director, East Coast Operations. Jaimie Wightman began working as General Manager for Metro in August 2005, the
date Metro acquired Southeast Crescent Shipping Company. In December 2013 Jaimie was promoted to Director of
Operations East Coast. He is responsible for operations in Metro Ports Wilmington, Metro Ports Savannah, Metro Ports
Cape Canaveral as well as our operations in Morehead City, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina. Jaimie is a
long time resident of North Carolina, where he resides with his wife and two children.
Troy Gouger
•
Director, Gulf Coast Operations. After serving in the United States Navy, Troy began his maritime career with Fairway
Terminal Corporation. At Fairway, Troy served in a variety of roles including as a member of the team who orchestrated
the privatization of the Port of Altamira, Mexico. Before joining Suderman Contracting Stevedores, Troy spent 12 years
with Ceres Gulf, Inc. in various roles from vessel superintendent to his last position as General Manager for the West
Gulf.

Ted Winter
• Vice President, Business Development, East Coast. Ted has over thirty years of experience in stevedoring,
marine transportation and chartering. His career includes strategic long-range planning, start-up and
management of stevedoring port facilities, labor negotiations and project management in the U.S. and
Canada. Prior to Metro Ports, Ted worked at Federal Marine Terminals, Texas American Shipping and Ridley
Terminals.
Brian Johnson
• Vice President, Business Development, West Coast. Brian began with Metro Ports as an Environmental
Manager after earning his B.S. in Engineering from California Polytechnic State University. Leaving to
pursue an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago, Brian returned to Metro in 2007 and has been a key
participant in all new business initiatives.
Jon Allyn
• Director, Business Development, West Coast. Jon has more than 33 years of experience, primarily on the
commercial side of the business with a focus on bulk and breakbulk cargoes. For the past 18 years, Jon has
worked for Swire Shipping, Gearbulk Shipping, BHP-IMT Transportation and Nedlloyd Line. Jon holds a B.A.
from U.C. Berkeley.
