At the time, Nevada was one Catholic Diocese - the Diocese of Reno. In 1976, Pope Paul VI created the Diocese of Reno-Las Vegas, with the Guardian Angel Shrine as the co-Cathedral. As the population of Southern Nevada continued to grow, Guardian Angel Shrine became a parish in 1980. In 1995, the Holy See, in recognition of the tremendous growth taking place in Nevada, divided the Diocese of Reno-Las Vegas, creating the Diocese of Reno and the Diocese of Las Vegas. Guardian Angel Cathedral serves our local families and parishioners as well as countless numbers of visitors who attend Mass in this sacred space every day of the year. We welcome all and encourage our visitors to consider the Cathedral as your church away from home. The kindness and generosity of the people of God make it possible for Guardian Angel Cathedral to continue our important ministries and services. Thank you!! The Diocese of Las Vegas is a community of believers who proclaim the Gospel message of hope by serving all through evangelization, life-long formation and worship. ~ Cathedral Contacts ~ Rector Financial Director Pastoral Associate Administrative Assistant Gift Shop Manager Gift Shop Director Gift Shop Associate Sacristan Sacristan Associate Sacristan Associate Music Director Organist Maintenance Director Maintenance Associate Special Assignments Special Assignments Father Gustavo Cruz Colleen Bevilacqua Deacon Rick Minch Joseph von Hazmburg Kathy Sheehan Ivanka Zrnic Kathleen Calkins Jeff George Barbara Ferrara Bill Bumar Debbie Cenna Carol Blanton Ivanka Zrnic Dan Gilliland Kelly Colucci Carol Padilla John began public ministry around 30 AD, and was known for attracting large crowds across the Province of Judaea and around the Jordan River. Father, we ask that you bless those fathers who have striven to balance the demands of work, marriage, and children with an honest awareness of both joy and sacrifice. Let us praise those fathers who, lacking a good model for a father, have worked to become a good father. Father, we ask that you bless those fathers who by their own account were not always there for their children, but who continue to offer those children, now grown, their love and support. Let us pray for those fathers who have been wounded by the neglect and hostility of their children. Father, we ask that you bless those fathers who, despite divorce, have remained in their children's lives. Let us praise those fathers whose children are adopted, and whose love and support has offered healing. Father, we ask that you bless those fathers who, as stepfathers, freely choose the obligation of fatherhood and earned their stepchildren's love and respect. Let us praise those fathers who have lost a child to death, and continue to hold the child in their heart. Father, we ask that you bless those men who have no children, but cherish the next generation as if they were their own. Father, we ask that you bless those men who have "fathered" us in their role as mentors and guides. Father, we ask that you bless those men who are about to become fathers; may they openly delight in their children .. And Father, we ask that you bless those fathers who have died, but live on in our memory and whose love continues to nurture us. Father’s Day Spiritual Bouquet of Masses A father carries pictures where his money used to be. This weekend we salute all our Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles and Godfathers. May God bless and reward you for all that you do and have done. Beginning this weekend and continuing to Friday, June 24th, we will pray for all of our Father’s (living and deceased) each day at Mass as part of our Spiritual Bouquet of Masses. Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, families and friends of those affected by the recent incident in Orlando. Anonymous Quotes
