continue as usual on Sundays—except for holiday weekends when we will all gather together for an intergenerational worship service,
including communion. Hope you will join us!

I am honoured to step into my role as an elder
at Cap. I have a
deep passion for
the people of our
church, and the
church as a
whole. This community has shaped
me in many ways,
and I am forever
grateful for
that. As an elder,
my aim is to support Kim as our
leader. Good
boards create a support system and structure
that allows their leaders and staff to
thrive. When the staff thrive in their work,
the people they serve experience the benefits
of it.
My heart, education and skillset is in church
leadership, and that's where I love to be of support to Kim, as we have already been meeting
for several months to talk through all aspects
of the church. My desire is to be a prayerful
elder, who is always relying on Christ. Please
encourage and challenge me to always cling to
Christ through prayer, as I serve you in an elder
capacity. (Brian Dean)
Coffee’s ON:
As an incentive for being
on time for church, good
coffee (provided reasonably priced by Delaney’s)
will be available starting
at 9:45 this Sunday! Don’t worry about stopping at Timmy’s or Starbucks beforehand,
come straight to church, get your caffeine fix
and visit with others before the service
begins.
Call the Midwife: A Memoir of
Birth, Joy, and Hard Times by Jennifer Worth
This is the true story that inspired
the PBS series of the same name and
provides a fascinating glimpse of
midwifery in post-war London. You
may remember Shelley MacDonaldLin referenced this book in a sermon
as part of our recent “Practicing Resurrection”
series because it also paints a beautiful picture of
the interweaving of daily work and Christian
faith. The vignettes in this book are vivid, occasionally heartbreaking, sometimes hilarious and
full of interesting characters. I couldn’t put it
down! (Kim Pierrot)
Dirk Update
The Dirk’s have really
enjoyed reconnecting
with friends from Cap,
old and new. They have
raised about 35% of the
additional funds needed
so they can return to
Egypt on Aug 15 as
scheduled for another 2year term (Praise
God). If an additional
10 people gave $50 per
month or if those already giving monthly
increased by 10% they
would reach their
goal. They want to
thank everyone for
their encouragement
and support and look
forward to connecting again soon! For more information please contact them
at mdirk@pmbx.net. Giving can be done online
through CanadaHelps.
Gitsegukla Trip
The plan for this year’s CapChurch trip to Gitsegukla: Jan Bryant and Andrea Smith will fly to Terrace,BC on approx. July 19th and rent a car to travel
to the village and assist with errands. We will stay

trip, please contact Jan Bryant (phone contact info

Capper, Steph King is off to Rwanda
“Embrace Rwanda"
might be called a
small miracle, except
that it is changing
thousands of lives
right across Rwanda. Steph says “going
to Rwanda in August is
going to be very exciting and probably lifechanging…” This Sunday, Steph will have
more "pig" cards if you are interested ( or you want
to ask more about the pigs) Steph asked us to pray
for:



Our team of 10 including a young family
Safety and good health
That we would see how God is working in the
Healthy Mums Project and other projects
 That Hilary King will have power as she talks to
government officials
 For me finding out more about the Twa people
 And for much-needed corporate sponsors!!

today’s message
Listening to Jesus’ Brother:
The Book of James
Wouldn’t it be fascinating if we could
listen to Jesus’ brother talk about things
he heard from his brother? What do you
think he would tell us? What would he
emphasize? Through the work of the Holy Spirit we have this opportunity
from June 5 through to September 4 as
we study the Book of James together. Each Sunday we will have the opportunity to engage the book both by listening to the preacher but also by interacting with the preacher and each other so
stay tuned for interactive sermons not
monologues. This Sunday we’re looking
at James 3:1-12, “Talk and Tongue”. The
key personal question is: How would you
asses the use of your tongue?
this sunday at a glance
THIS SUNDAY MORNING, Rod Wilson will be speaking on
