Wins DC Regional Chairman’s Award and
Competes at World Championships
“Betaware 4” Wins Lockheed Martin
Programming Competition
Code Quest is a computer programming competition
consisting of 20 questions created by Lockheed Martin
engineers and computer programmers. Teams of two to
three students work together for 2.5 hours to answer the
questions
and
complete
the Quest.
In
April,
Battlefield's ILITE Betaware team of Teddy Todorov and
Eric Wolf earned first place in the advanced division, and
the team of Noah Reily and Samuel Toureau earned a
second place in the advanced division.
Congratulations to ILITE Robotics FRC team 1885 for
another stellar year. In late April, they competed in the
World Championships in St. Louis, having a strong
showing making it through the preliminary rounds to the
playoffs. ILITE video of World Championship.
The team qualified for the World Championships by
winning the Chairman's Award at the FIRST Greater DC
Regional. According to FIRST, the Chairman's Award is
the highest honor given at the FRC regional, recognizing
the team that best represents a model for other teams to
emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals
of FIRST.

BEST Club Provides Computers at Vaughan ES
The BEST Club has refurbished, and given away more
than 200 computers to families during the current school
year. In April, the students, along with their sponsor Mrs.
Evers, traveled to Vaughan Elementary and distributed
over twenty computers.
Families are shown how to assemble computers.
BEST club members assist with taking
computers to the cars.
Basic operations are demonstrated.
And occasionally students show their
excitement with a high five!
Students test out their new computers.
