Casino Night and karaoke are just a few of the scheduled events for SEPTEMBER. Park your rig at the park or make your reservation to stay in one of our cottages or smaller log cabins, and hurry into the town of Julian. Well known for their apple orchards and apple pies, the town also has attractions from melodramas to wineries to gold mine tours to wolves! September through mid-October the town is bustling with visitors during their famous “apple-picking” days. When you get tired of picking apples you can hop into one of the horse-drawn surreys for a serene ride around the town while enjoying stories about its history as a gold mining town. But be very careful not to get caught in the middle of the Sunday shootouts! Oktoberfest in Julian will be OCTOBER 18th & 19th with plenty of bratwurst, beer, and oom-pah-pah music in German & Austrian. Back at the Ranch your days will be as busy or as relaxing as you choose. Activities from sun-up to sun-down will keep everyone moving from toddlers to grandmas & pas! Enjoy the two playgrounds, Olympic-size pool, Kidz Klub and Toy Barn, or check your activity schedule so you don’t miss the regularly scheduled Sunday tour to the wolf preserve. Candy Bar BINGO, miniature golf tournaments, horseshoe tournaments, solar and star gazing, In OCTOBER plans are already in full swing for the October 25th Halloween Carnival complete with booths, prizes, pumpkin carving contest, hayrides, and costume judging for both kids and adults! Don’t forget to bring your creative side with all your Halloween decorations for the Rig & Site Spooktacular Deco contest! First prize winner will claim a $75 Walmart gift certificate! Saturday night will keep you, along with all those spooks and goblins, dancing to the sounds of Solid Gold Entertainment. NOVEMBER means food, food, food! The kitchen is already planning to stuff you with everything from turkey to mashed potatoes and all the trimmings! All you have to do is decide which of the two seatings best fit into your day. First seating will be from 3-4 and 2nd seating from 5-6. Plans are still underway for DECEMBER at the Ranch. We are still hoping we can get Santa Clause to take time out of his busy schedule and stop by for a visit! New Year’s Eve will again be a gala event with contests, food, sparkling cider midnight toast and dancing to the much loved Solid Gold Entertainment! We Want to hear from you! Cherry Valley is perfectly located no matter whether your game is golf, shopping, or any of the other adventures, the surrounding areas have plenty to offer. Palm Springs, only 35 miles from the park, not only has golf and shopping, but the world’s largest rotating aerial tramcar and a 16-acre Wet ‘N’ Wild park full of water rides and attractions. For those willing to take a chance, the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa is barely a role of the dice away! If you are looking for a slower pace, you can always relax around the RV park at the catch-and-release fishing pond or laze away the day floating in the pool or lying around the clubhouse patio enjoying the newly installed misting system. Be sure to pick up an activity schedule because….Be Warned!!... The last Friday night of OCTOBER you will surely find little witches, ghosts, and goblins trick or treating around the park! Be sure to pack all your creative supplies and ideas for a chance to win the “Best Decorated Rig and Site” contest. Friday evening activities will follow with a special Halloween dinner, then enjoy karaoke with DJ Anna in the clubhouse. But the fun won’t end when your heads hit the pillow because Saturday, NOVEMBER 1st is the park’s Chili Cook-off Contest. Mark your calendars and get your reservations in because Thanksgiving celebration begins on Saturday, the 22nd of NOVEMBER, with the Harvest Dinner and get-together and continues with another Thanksgiving dinner on the 27th with the kitchen taking care of all the cooking! It’s time for you to sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday! Things won’t be slowing down in DECEMBER because the staff can’t wait to cook for you again on the 20th with a huge ham dinner and all the trimmings. New Year’s Eve won’t give our staff much rest with another dinner/dance on the schedule! Enjoy karaoke and DJ Anna along with all the door prizes, drawings, sparkling cider, punch and tea and celebrate with us as we ring in the new year! Ya’man ….The drinks are colder, the shade is cooler, the smiles are bigger, and the fun is non-stop! The new palapas at the tiki bar are a “must see soon” item for your agenda. The poolside palapas and tiki bar are only the beginning……look for the new pool decking and counter-tops to follow! Look across from the pool and you’ll see we’ve brushed the sand and gravel off the tees and greens at Jackass Flats and tournament play will start soon. The greens on the mini golf course are as tough as ever! OCTOBER special activities will kick off with our annual Oktoberfest on October 11th from 6pm – 10 pm at the beach. Our much-loved Highway 95 band will be bringing us the beat and, of course, the dinner will include our favorites of beer, bratwurst, German potato salad, and more! Halloween will come later this year…NOVEMBER 1st all the little ghosts and gremlins will be taking over the park! When you drive through the gate be sure to get your orange pumpkin so these little creatures are sure to knock at your door for their much-awaited for trick-or-treat candy. Afterwards, the Monster-Mash party with Highway 95 band will be in the clubhouse with contests for best costume – young and old! Bring your favorite dish, place settings, family and friends to celebrate the Thanksgiving dinner here at Emerald Cove on November 27th! Our kitchen crew will prepare the turkeys, gravy and dressing while you supply the side dishes. Don’t forget to bring bowls for your gravy and stuffing at your tables! There will be two seatings to choose from so be sure to make reservations for the one that best fits your schedule. Our Fall dinner/dance is scheduled for Saturday, November 29th with our special Highway 95 band bringing us the sounds of classic rock and country. Our DECEMBER Christmas dinner is also scheduled this year so don’t leave us out of your plans! Help us ring in the New Year with our annual New Year’s Eve party! SEPTEMBER in Placerville, brings weekly Saturday farmers markets, classic car shows, wine and sunset concerts, and even the Oktoberfest which will come early this year – on the 20th of September - complete with music, contests, dance demos and of course sausages, sauerkraut, strudel and beer. Ghost Mountain could be paralleled to Hollywood with the ongoing face-lift at the park. We now have seven cabins completely renovated and ready for your rental reservations. For those of you that prefer to bring your own shelter, 5 more tent sites have been added as well as water to each and every site. In addition to the always popular Kids’ Critter Club, the Blacksmith Shop is now the new teen arcade center with a variety of arcade games, air hockey, pool table and a new ping pong table! In and around the park, we have taken great strides at reducing the forest fire danger by completing the first phase of the logging and underbrush clearing project. Brand new “Fred Flintstone” style tables have been made with the fallen trees by our very own member Mike Spelatz. But he didn’t stop there, he also constructed new picnic tables and benches for all those new tenting sites. Thumbs up to Mike! The park is perfectly situated to act as your base camp while you venture out in any direction around the park. Camino, only a few miles from the park is home of the amazing Apple Hill™ Farms. The association, consisting of 60+ ranches, hosts year-round activities for you to enjoy like face painting, pony rides, stocked ponds, baked goods, tree farms and wineries, to name a few. Pick your own fruit including, but not limited to, pumpkins, apples, blueberries, etc., or cut your own Christ- If you prefer to stay in the park, it won’t matter which Saturday of the month you come see us. You can always count on karaoke in the Ghost Town Saloon! In OCTOBER you’ll be able to jig at the park during our very own Oktoberfest set for October 4th. Come and enjoy all the games, beer, bratwurst, etc. and for all of you wanna-be performers, there will be karaoke. But, of course, the MOST SPOOKTACULAR day will be Halloween. We know there will be witches flying around the park, but if your broom is in for repairs, hop on our Ghost Mountain Miner’s Express hayride for a round trip trick or treat experience! This is the only day of the year you can dress up and be anything you want, and you’ll fit right in! Costume contests for young and old, dance & karaoke will surely send you home with lots of great memories! Thanksgiving, Christmas and, of course, New Year’s will bring more food, karaoke, and fun to the park! Summer season has come to an end and the hustle and bustle of summer visitors may have left the area but there is still plenty going on in and around Pismo Beach to make it a great place to visit in fall or winter. The first Sunday of every month, enjoy the Art in the Park day, when over 100 local artists and craftsmen sell and display their work. Always with food, music, and children’s activities, it’s sure to have something for everyone! But what you really love are clams you say? Got that covered also! The 68th annual 4-day Pismo Beach Clam Festival begins October 17th. With clam chowder contests, clam digs, and clam bakes, you are sure to get your fill of those little creatures! Whether enjoying the city’s Pumpkin at the Pier day in October, Turkey Trot in November, or the Holiday Stroll in December, there’s more than enough activity to keep you coming back. Don’t forget to venture out a little farther to San Luis Obispo dubbed the “happiest city” in America. With their 200+ wineries and world renowned chefs, you will not be disappointed! If you’d rather stay close to the park, you can now enjoy your evenings sitting in the newly-installed hot tub. What a great place to relax with a glass of wine while listening as the waves hit the beach!
