NEW SCHOOL HOURS Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. if eating breakfast. √ First Bell Rings at 7:55 a.m. Students not eating breakfast 7:45 a.m. √ Tardy Bell Rings at 8:00 a.m. (students are tardy at 8:01 a.m. Students will go directly to homeroom classes. √ Dismissal Bell is at 3:00 p.m. NO morning assembly, however announcements will be done over PA system. Dismissal Bell Rings at 3:00 p.m. 1. Transportation Forms must be filled out and turned in NO LATER than the 1st day of school. 2. No one is permitted to enter the school building, classroom or entrance hallways at the closing of school. 3. Any child picked up 5, 10 and 15 minutes BEFORE 3:00 p.m. will be entered and recorded as 1 / 4 day unexcused absence. Heath, Lakewood, Licking Valley and North Fork Parents! If your child does not need to take the bus in the morning and/or afternoon, please contact the appropriate school district transportation department, in addition to Par Excellence. Steps for Notifying School of Changes: 1. Send a note TO School with child. (include how and who will be picking up student) 2. Call the office NO LATER than 2:00 p.m. (740)344-7279 Family / Friends picking up child(ren) should have their ID with them before child will be released. All Kindergarten / 1st Grade students: pick-ups and walkers will dismiss from the EAST end (staff parking lot doors) Please do not park in staff parking lot. Grades 2 – 5: pick-ups and walkers are dismissed at the front doors K – 5 bus riders are dismissed at the gym doors Examples of an “EXCUSED” Absence Illness of a student (with a parent or doctor’s note) Bereavement of a close relation Dental, medical or optometric appointment with a doctor’s note Examples of an “UNEXCUSED” Absence Missing the school bus Running Late Overslept Please refer to the student handbook starting on page 8 for more attendance information. Student Vacations: Must be in written form by the parent 2 weeks prior or could lead to unexcused absences. Students are ONLY permitted “5” accumulative vacation days Vacation days are NOT approved 5 days prior to the end of a semester or grading period and during OAA Testing week. Answering Machine On 24 / 7 Call by 7:45 a.m. Ohio law states that a parent must call their child off from school. It is important that all student forms be turned in by the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. Every Tuesday, 1 class a week will be able to stop at the salad bar for their mid-morning snack. A Balanced Breakfast will provide your child with proper nutrition and a full stomach until lunch. To help mentor students and their families while building and supporting relationships. The following is prohibited: • Low rise, cargo or baggy pants • Underclothing should not be showing • Any type of sandals, strapless shoes, high heels or open toe shoes • Shoes without socks….socks must be worn • No Heelys or lights on shoes • Boys are not permitted to wear earrings • Girls are not permitted to wear dangly earrings • No Kool-Aid or excessive color in hair or Mohawks • No holes in clothing Consequences for Coming to School Out of Uniform • • • FIRST offense: parents shall be called to bring the correct clothing to school. SECOND offense: student may be sent home if they come to school out of uniform. REPEAT offense: Students who come to school on a regular basis out of uniform may be removed from school.
